Aaron's POV
It was Monday, I was at the library reading the fault in our stars for the first time ever. I know it's a bestseller and it's very well known but I didn't really like the movie, it was boring so I turned it off and never knew the ending. But I'll admit it, the book was much better.
It was lunch time and people barely came at that time. Of course eating is their first priority and who could blame them?
I hated the fact that I had to work here while they all ate at the cafeteria and that I let Isabelle or mom prepare a lunchbox for me not to die from starvation and eat it here while I'm doing nothing.
"You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I'm grateful."
I was so engrossed in reading that I didn't notice anybody was there until this angelic voice spoke up. Her angelic voice but a little bit tired.
I looked up from the book and saw her, she was smiling at me weakly, she had a gorgeous smile. But she didn't look good... I mean she always looked good but this time she looks... sick.
Her eyes were bloodshot and under her eyes was puffy and dark, the sparkles in her eyes weren't there and her skin looked unusually pale, she wore and oversized black hoodie and sweatpants and her hair was covered by the hood.
No offence but she looked like a drug dealer.
There was just something that wasn't right... that wasn't her style, she always wore skirts and colourful dresses and seeing her dressed like that made me suspicious that something was off.
"I did?" I paid attention to her words which were very surprising to my ears. Did she refer to something even though we haven't talked except once?
She rolled her eyes, "don't be naïve Reinhart, it's my favourite qoute from the book."
"Ahaaa" I nod absentmindly.
"Is that your first time reading it?" She tilted her head as she asked.
"Yes, actually I haven't watched all the movie either." I tried keeping up a conversation even though I felt that this one was very boring because she looked unenthusiastic for a chitchat.
"Augustus waters dies in the end." She shrugged then walked towards
the shelves with ease.Oh no she didn't!! I hated spoilers.
I stood up and walked behind her, " wait... did you just spoil the story for me intentionally??" I scowled but she couldn't see it as she led the way.
She turned to face me and slightly smirked, "guilty as charged, now catch me if you can!!" She teased then started running away from me and hiding behind the shelves like a child.
I laughed at how moody she is and started chasing after her exactly like she wanted.
At first, it was easy to spot her as she ran but then she started running faster and I lost the track and had to search for her behind every shelf.
I kept searching for her but couldn't find her. I guess I underestimated her, she was smart.
"You can run... but you can never hide." I laughed mischievously.
