Chapter 5: "just" a date

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

That was me screaming. I can't believe Brandon actually did this!! I didn't know he was the type of guy to do such a thing, but he actually did it!

I should probably tell you what happened.

This afternoon, Brandon picked me up for our date. We went to the park where we had our first kiss, and Brandon took out his picnic basket.

I helped him to set out the blanket, the food and the drinks, and we sat down.

We had a really wacky conversation.

"Hey! I saw you at Chloe and Marcus' wedding!"

"Yeah I was there! I was the photoghapher, didn't you notice when I was taking wedding photos? Seriously, Nikki! You were one of the bridesmaids and you didn't know?"

"I thought I recognised you! So that's why there are so many photos of me!"

Brandon started laughing. "Oh c'mon, Nikki. They weren't that many!"

"Yes it was! Nearly a quarter of all the photos were of me! You even got one of me with chocolate cream all over my face!" I said as he cracked up laughing.

"Well... What can I say... Your face is beautiful, even WITH the chocolate cream."

"Oh stop it you!" I punched his arm as I blushed like mad.

Then he looked dead serious, and he stared into my eyes. "I mean it, Nikki."

I looked down and did my best to bite back a blush. "You are too sweet."

"Nikki, you are the only person in the whole world who I have ever fallen for. You are the reason I came here today." I could tell that he was nervous.

He reached into the basket, and took out something small. He sat in front of me, and in his hand, there was a tiny navy blue box. I gasped.

"Nikki Maxwell..." He started, and I felt like all the butterflies in the whole world were dancing in my stomach.

"You are the light in my darkest days, the reason I smile today, the person I am willing to travel across the universe for, and the only person in the whole world I want to spend the rest of my life with." His hands were shaking.

"My... My only question is..." He stuttered as he opened the box.

"Will you be my bride?" He asked, smiling. Inside was a ring, covered in tiny diamonds, and a sparkling blue sapphire in the middle.

I almost started crying. "Yes... YES! A million times yes! I love you so much, Brandon Roberts!" I shrieked and flung myself into his loving arms

"And I love you, Nikki Maxwell!" He called back, sounding relieved.

He put the ring on my finger, and it fit like a glove. I suddenly gasped.

"Brandon! We gotta tell everybody! I have to call my mom and mmpf..." I was shushed by Brandon putting his lips on mine. I blushed (again) as he pulled back and smiled.

"Let's just enjoy a picnic for now."

Now he has dropped me off at home, I already called everyone and I am waiting for Chloe and Zoey to come over to my place. Mackenzie said she couldn't come because she's on a date with Ethan, but I don't mind.

Okay, they're here, so I gotta stop writing. 'Till tomorrow, dear diary!!
