y/n.
what do you think happens after death?""you know? i haven't really thought about it." tom shrugs.
y/n nods in response and stirs around her [favorite drink] with its straw. this conversation wasn't really going anywhere. tom holland was a nice guy, but there wasn't much chemistry between the two.
"so, what's the backstory on that necklace?" tom asks, nodding towards y/n's neck., trying to revive the dead conversation.
a chill runs down y/n's spine. she runs her hand down the necklace's silver chain and clasps her hand on the cold ruby.
"oh, uhh. i got it from a yard sale a while ago. i think. it's not really my style so i never wear it."
"you should sell it. you could make a LOT of money on it." tom smiles.
y/n nods, her mind brought back to him and everything that had happened. she missed him. she loved him. soon enough, the waiter brought the check, tom payed for it, and the two were back in tom's car. tom drove y/n back to her apartment.
before y/n got out, tom leaned in.
"i love you, y/n l/n." tom smiles and pecks her on the cheek. y/n doesn't reply."hey, am i doing something wrong? if so let me
know and i can fix it." tom says, with a smile.y/n shakes her head.
"listen... tom. you're great but..." her voice
trails of, as she's unable to finish."there's someone else?" he asks, fearing the worst.
"yeah. and i can't get over them. and you're amazing and i'm sure there's someone who will treat you with the love you deserve."
"wow, so we're done"
y/n bites her lip and nods. "i'm sorry."
later.
y/n sits sprawled out on her couch eating leftover sushi she'd gotten a few days ago. she was with her roommate maya.
"hey, could you run to the store for me? we're outta ramen and..." she signals to her broken leg. "i would go, but i can't..."
y/n nods, and picks up her phone to check the time shit. 12:31 am. "i'll be quick." and with that, she picks up her keys and heads out the door.
wolfhard.
"i can tell your time's coming soon." the older man says, with a smile.finn takes a bite of his raspberry cheesecake. "i hope. but at the same time, i hope it never does. i don't want her to have to have died, she had such a bright future ahead of her."
the old man doesn't respond, and finn breathes in the scenery. it was nice; a picture perfect day in the park. dogs. birds. straight out of a child's mind.
there were other angels there too, ones that didn't have their "favorites" join them yet.
everyone here still had their wings and halo around them, until their favorite person came, meaning they'd passed, and joined them. then, they'd go back to their favorite phase/years of life together, and live in a euphoric state together for the rest of eternity."how long have you been here?" finn asks.
"fifty years. only felt like 3 though." the man replies with a small chuckle.
"damn, it's only been five for me."
the two sit in silence for a bit.finn watches a husky puppy splash around in the water fountain. its angel wings glistened in the sunlight. he smiled for a second, but it quickly faded. he turned to the old man next to him, who was no longer there. that same smile that had been there seconds ago crept back on finn's face. he'd finally been reunited with the love of his life.
with a sudden burst of happines coursing through his veins, finn stands up with the hopes seeing y/n again. he stuffs his hands in his pockets and
only what he didn't know is he'd be seeing y/n very soon.
...
