I woke up to my loud alarm clock and I got really angry. I can't believe I just moved and already have to go to school. Plus it's the 3 months into school already. I already had a uniform for some reason and I got ready to put it on. I wasn't really used to the uniform thing, so I felt very uncomfortable.
I walked downstairs and saw my mom in her work outfit.
"Awww sweety, you look so cute!" She said a little too loud.
"Mom you do realize it's early in the morning" I said stretching. She nodded while sipping her coffee. I began to make me some coffee and toast with jelly.
"Okay hurry and I'll drive you" my mom said standing on the door.
"Wait mom with what car?" I asked and I followed her to the garage.
"Woah" I mouthed looking at this new car.
"When did you...how did you.." I said staring at the car.
"It's my little secret" she said while getting in.
The drive wasn't that long and the traffic wasn't bad.
I began to get nervous when I saw the school building.
"Ok you should start using Korean now" my mom said stopping the car.
I nodded while getting out and heading in.
I walked around the busy school and found my way to the office for my schedule.
As I went in there was a lady at the front desk looking at me.
"Hi you must be Luna" she says smiling.
I nodded not knowing what to say.
"Oh I'm a friend of your mom's and she told about you not knowing a lot of Korean" the lady said and I smiled.
"Here's your schedule and a student will be here to tour you around." She said handing me a schedule.
I read the Korean on the page and waiting patiently. As I was waiting I heard a student come in and I turned around. I recognized him from the grocery store. We both seemed surprised and he came to the lady.
"Luna this is Mark, he will be showing you around" she said looking at him and I nodded once again. He put his hand out and I shook it. We left the office and then he began to speak. "Wow what a coincidence" he said smiling at me. "Yea I know this is odd" I responded. I was happy he was using English. "So I guess I'll show you around." He said in a giddy mood. I followed him around as he showed me every class.
"I'll walk you to your class, hey I think we have the exact same schedule." He said
"Wait really!!?" I said looking at him.
"Okay here's our class" He said.
"gomabseubnida" I said to him, I walked in and class was almost about to start.
I followed him to a seat and class begin.
"Hello class today we have a new student, please come up and introduce yourself." The teacher said looking at me. I walked up in front with everyone's eyes on my movement.
"a-annyeonghaseyo je ileum-eun luna pakeu-ibnida." I said bowing in front of them.
"Okay please take a seat, and let's begin class." Mr. Kim said while writing on the board.
I tried to keep up by writing down some notes.
After some classes lunch time started. I had no where to sit until I saw Mark waving frantically at me.
This dude had some energy I swear I thought smiling.
"Yooo" he said to me as I was sitting down next to him.
"Annyeong!" I said to him while looking around the table.
"Ok, so these are my friends" he said gesturing to five highly attractive boys.
"Annyeonghaseyo!!" They said in unison waving.
"Annyeonghaseyo" I said looking at all their faces.
"I'm Jeno!" Aww his eye smile
"I'm Renjun"
"Jaemin"
"Donghyuck but I go by Haechan"
"Chenleee!!"
"I'm Jisung"
They were all so cute.
"I'm Luna" I said smiling
"So how old are you?" Mark asked eating his food.
"16 my birthday is in September" I said
"What about you all?" I asked drinking my milk.
"We're all 17, Chenle is 16 and Jisungie is 15" Jeno answered
"So call us oppa" Mark said smiling
"Maybe" I teased them.
"Noona where are you from? " Jisung asked
"I'm from America. Half Korean though" I said and he nodded.
"Chenle's lucky, he's the same age as you noona" he pouted.
"Omo you're so cute!" I squealed
"Yea cute but deadly" Renjun added.
Which made me chuckle while continuing to eat. Not noticing the whispers from people watching us.
Lunch was finally over and we exchanged numbers to make a group chat.
I noticed that Jaemin waited for me and walked me to class.
"Hey so what part of America do you come from?" He asked
I had to translate that threw my brain
"Oh! New York" I answered getting excited that I understood.
"Keoptda" he mumbled poking my cheeks smiling
"Yah!" I yelled pushing his hand away while laughing.
"Wait, how do you even know what class I'm in?" I asked looking at him
"I asked Mark hyung" he said still smiling.
"Okay now byeee" he waved walking away.
Making friends was easy I thought to myself smiling.
