Tonight, Percy Jackson was greeted with scenery he hadn't seen seen since his quest last summer. Calm waters below him, his bottom half wet. Rain droplets falling on top of him, his top half dry as a whistle. A building storm above him, his storm. He sighed, he was really not looking forward to this, because he has an inkling of and idea of what was about to happen. Just like Percy predicted, he began to feel the pulsating waves below him, and he felt as though the sea itself was attempting to grab his attention. Which, in a way, it was. However; it was a little different this time. This time, he could feel the churning waves of the ocean turn its eyes to him. All of it. After a moment, something rose above the water. A man, who had the same eyes as Percy, but he was much taller. He was also bulkier, with a stubble beard. The eyes, however, were unmistakable.
"Father.." Percy mumbled. His mind flashed with the memory of their first meeting. He couldn't help but be kind of embarrassed thinking about it. He had been horribly immature, but he didn't regret doing it. He'd probably do it again.
"Percy."
Percy raised an eyebrow. His father had never even called him 'Perseus', much less Percy. It took a second, but the Son of Poseidon noticed something. His father was smiling, an odd pride obvious in his eyes. He realized that his father had taken physical form. That meant Percy had Poseidon's full attention. He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing quite yet. "Is there a problem?" The boy asked, unsure of how to proceed. He'd never seen Poseidon like this before.
"Hmm? Oh, right. Atlas has escaped." His smile didn't even waver.
"What?! Why are you so calm about that? Wasn't he like, the most physically strong Titan?"
"Yes, indeed. But, I do believe that is a problem for us Gods to fix. No, you already have a duty to preform."
"Which I'm only being alerted to know?"
"Thalia made a rather big display of not wanting anyone but you and Nico on any quest with her."
"Oh, really? Alright then."
Poseidon noticed how fast his child was to agree once the other of Olympus' children were mentioned, and his smile only seemed to widen. "Would you like a run down of what's going on?"
"If you'd be so kind."
"War with the Crooked One approaches, we can all sense it. Camp Half-Blood has taken the initiative with recruitment. Demi-Gods are being found, briefed, and trained at an increased rate."
"Sacrificing efficiency for numbers, eh? Makes some sense, I guess. But uh, what does that have to do with Thalia or Nico?" He asked, while he did some leg stretches. He was dreaming, and he wasn't sure if this transferred to real life, but it was worth a try at least.
"Well, it normally wouldn't. Except this recruitment mission is a little more dangerous. A Satyr sniffed out the area, and reported a monster strong enough to be a threat to any of you three alone. Together, however.."
"That means whatever Demi-God its after probably has a big role to play."
"Perhaps. It is unclear to us who this child is born from. Never mind that for now. Do you accept this mission, my son?" Percy noticed how he had avoided the word quest. Maybe because there was no prophecy given out beforehand.
