Chapter 6

        Nova

        I tapped my foot in anticipation. I was so nervous for Zander I was litierally about to worry myself to death. I got up and paced, hoping it would ease my nerves. As if I wasn't nervous enough; they told us that we could start exploring all levels of the floors, so we wouldn't have to stay in our cells all the time. 

        Time was ticking by but, not fast enough. After I got sick of pacing (and tired) I sat down, unable to calm my nerves. Just as I barely got a chance to sit, the door to my cell flew open. I ran my fingers through my hair and stood up terrified and excited all at the same time. I started walking out my cell and instantly found a friend of mine. Syd. I walked towards her. 

        "You ready?" I asked her.

        "Yeah I guess." She had replied.

        "Well, that's almost the spirit." I nugged her on the shoulder and she responded by almost shoving me into the wall. 

        The tour was short. She showed us the dinning hall (which we already knew about thank you very much), the outside courtyard where we'll be doing most of our training, the game room, the library (suprised they had one), the lounge, and the training floor. We go to any of the spots as much as we desired. Although the game room seemed like a good idea, I went to the training floor first. I took the stairwell and ran as fast as I could. When I reached the door and, I threw it open; I saw a familiar massive hallway but, for some reason seemed bigger now. I opened a door to check it out by myself because, no classes were in session. I couldn't believe my eyes.

        Zander

        The run today seemed like forever. I was gasping for breath and the air that came out of my lungs had turned white because, it was so cold outside. We really had to rough it. We couldn't even bring a jacket. My hands felt numb. At least Nova had gone when it was warmer. The tempurature dropped like 15 deggres since this morning. It went from 50 to 35 in like twenty seconds and, I was paying for it.

        "Okay boys good work today." The coach said and a rush of relief ran through me. I was ready to go inside. We jogged back through the forest and to the door of the building. The doors opened as we jogged in place. The other three guys that were with me looked like they were just as excited as I was to be going inside. Before I made it inside one of the boys came up to me and bumped me on the shoulder.

        "Hey, you. What's your name?" I didn't know who he was but, he was about as tall as I was.

        "Zander. Why?" I had asked. If this stranger wanted to know my name I wanted a reason.

        "No reason. Just seemed friendly." 

        "Okay?" There was a pause in our conversation as we walked into the dead silent lunch room. Then my new friend broke the silence.

        "Well my names Chad by the way. Thanks for asking."

        "Your welcome." Just then he gave my the most dead beat epression on the planet. I gave the same face back to him. He looked at me and started laughing. I smiled and started laughing along with him. Just then Nova burst out of the door leading to the stairwell. 

        "Hey Nova." She came to a haulting stop infront of me.

        "Hey," She replied out of breath.

        "This is Chad." She turned and smiled at him. 

        "Nice to meet you." She said.

        "Same to you." Chad replied with the goofiest smile on his face. She turned back to me and gave me a conserned look.

        "Zander I need to speak with you alone."

        "Why? Is something wrong?" I asked by heart beating faster.

        "No! Nothing's wrong. Just need to talk to you."

        "Okay." 

        I followed her around the corner. She grabbed my arm and spoke some words that I would never forget.

        "Zander. Did they show you the training floor?"

        "Yes, why?"

        "Did you ever go in one of those rooms?"        

        "No. Nova what's going on?"

        "Zander. I think they are going to start a war and they are using us as soldiers."
