Magnus got up and motioned for Alec  to do the same. The starting of the transformation had made him suddenly stronger.

He was now filled with demonic magic, meant to aid him transform successfully and to not die in the middle.

He had other plans though.

Magnus snapped his finger, giving rise to cobalt sparks. He gave Alec a  satisfied smile.

Alec returned him a confusing look.

Magnus picked up the fallen seraph blade and muttered a spell. Magic coursed through it, reminding him how blood courses through mortal  veins.

It was surrounded by wispy blue flames, now surrounding them like blue mist.

A look of wonder and fascination went through Alec and his eyes sparkled.

Magnus had to admit that while his magic looked amazing, and the beauty of Alec's eyes were definitely par with it

Add some black raven hair, and then no magic could be compared to that breathtaking Shadowhunter grace and beauty.

" Hey.." Alec said, bringing Magnus back to reality.

A reality where the sky was always orange or blood red and in which he was going to die.

He'd rather dream of Alec's eyes.

He passed the seraph blade to Alec, who now eyed it suspiciously.

"What is the magic for?" Alec asked him.

" Its for easing the pain. You could stab someone a dozen times with this and they would feel nothing." Magnus said.

With a chuckle, he added, "Do you really think I would like to spend my last moments in pain?"

No sooner did he say these words than he felt his bone elongating. His magic was keeping him from feeling the pain.

Alec had noticed that something was wrong. Shadowhunter vision was no joke.

" Kill me. Now, " Magnus pleaded. Once he turned there was no going back. He would just resurrect somewhere else.

" Not yet... " Alec muttered, pulling Magnus in and kissing him fiercely, knowing they were short on time.

" It's time, Alec" Magnus said softly, breaking away. Alec flinched like those words had caused a physical blow.

Magnus guided Alec's hand holding the blade over his heart. The blue mist from the blade felt cool over his face.

Alec whispered him name. His gaze held so much of love in it. Magnus felt it will burn him if he looked any longer.

Magnus was always the vocal one of the two. It amazed him how much Alec could say with just a look.

" Aku Chinta Kamu, Alexander..." These were the words that he had once said while saying goodbye. It now seemed ages ago. This time, there would be no turning back.

Magnus had to admit that he had quite a long life, and also a good one.

Of course, he could do nothing about his father, the demon and the other who tried to kill him.

He could do nothing about the numerous scandals that followed him wherever he went.

But he had friends, his fellow Warlocks Catrina Loss, Ragnor Fell and Tessa Grey and then he had Alec

After one last look at Alec, he close his eyes and applied pressure on Alec's hand, forcing the blade in.

Alec was saying something which he couldn't make out. His head buzzed. He was remotely aware of the strong hands surrounding him, laying him down.

But something was wrong. The hands which once burned with the flames of mortal life were now cold.

Lifeless.

He felt no fear, only a state of peace. But there was still worry, and Magnus did not know why.

Before he knew what was happening, a state of blankness took over him. He was now ebbing away.
