"So, you've decided to go through with it?" Dr. Obinna asked.

Amanda hesitated and looked over at Sophie who smiled at her. She breathed out before looking back at the doctor and nodding.

"Very well then, a nurse will come prepare you for the surgery."

Amanda nodded, not finding the will to talk. Her heart was hurting from guilt and fear. Mostly fear. If the surgery didn't go well, she wouldn't ever be able to reproduce. Then again, if she didn't go through with the abortion, she had a chance of losing, Prince, the love of her life. Just the thought of that set her head straight and she was ready to go through with it.

"So, would you prefer local anesthetic which only numbs the area we're operating on or would you rather take the general anaesthetic?" Dr. Obinna asked and Amanda didn't even think twice before choosing the latter.

"General anaesthetic," She said and he nodded. She'd rather sleep through it and not be conscious than for her to be awake through it and think of her baby getting killed. She quickly shook her head as if it would make the thoughts fall out of her head. She saw that the doctor was already standing up, leading them out of his office.

As they entered inside the theater, Amanda felt fear overwhelm her. She had gone through this 3 times and she had never felt like this. Other times, she had even been excited to get rid of them so she would go back to her luxurious lifestyle. But this time around, she didn't understand why she felt very different.

She looked at the equipments on the table, from the box of latex gloves to the, to the vacuum machine, the suction curette. Amanda looked away and began breathing heavily. She gulped and took several deep breaths to calm herself down. Sophie looked at her friend and noticed her uneasiness. She placed her hand on her back and caressed it in a shooting manner.

"It's going to be okay, Mandy," Sophie said as Amanda nodded. "You'll be fine. I'm going to be right here, I promise."

"Don't go anywhere, please. I'm so scared," Amanda said as she began sobbing.

"Oh, Mandy." Sophie hugged her friend, feeling bad for her. "You can turn around and just carry this pregnancy."

"No! I can't lose Prince. He's my life," Amanda said as Sophie laughed.

"Then think of Prince thoughout. He's waiting for you, remember?"

Amanda nodded her head and braced herself up. She felt slightly better after remembering all the promises Prince made to her. They'd be together at the end.

"How's she?" Sophie asked as soon as the doctor came out of the theater.

"She's still under the influence of the anaesthetic but she'll work up very soon," The doctor said as Sophie nodded.

"Alright but how did it go?" She asked as Dr. Obinna's head fell. "What's wrong?"

"Let me see you in my office, please," He said as he walked away.

Sophie stood still trying to processing what just happened. He didn't look like he had good news at all. As she was about to follow him, she caught sight of Prince.

"Where's she?" He asked.

"She's still asleep. The doctor wants to talk to me. And I don't think he has some news," Sophie said and Prince quickly ran towards the Doctor's office.

He barged in, wanting to hear what the doctor had to say.

"Doctor, what happened with Amanda?" Prince asked breathing unevenly.

"Mr. Okoye, I think you should sit down," He said as Prince auixkly sat at the edge of the chair.

"Go on, please."

"Okay. Well, it seems like Miss Amanda has had her womb tampered with a lot. Those tampering caused a severe injury and it really damaged her womb," He said as Prince kept looking at him with so much curiosity.

"Well, it can be treated, ri-right?" He asked nervously.

"I'm afraid it can't be. We'd have to remove it." He said making Prince's eyes widen.

"Oh my God, no." This wasn't happening. He couldn't believe it.

"It's for the best, Mr. Okoye. I suggest you go and speak to her before we can go ahead."

"Doctor, please, don't mention this to her, I'll get back to you," Prince said as the doctor hesitantly nodded.

"Thank you, doctor," Prince said as he stood up and left the office.

He got to Amanda's room and she was awake, talking to Sophie. She looked so happy. She looked up and saw him and she spread her hands for him to come hug her. He quickly masked his frown with a smile and when over to her.

"Hi, baby," He said softly hugging her. "Are you good?"

"Yeah, I am."

"That's good to know," He said as he kissed her head.

"I love you," She said as he waited for him to answer but it looked like he was thinking. She shook him a bit.

"Wha- I love you too, my angel," He said as she examined his face.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked frowning.

He forced a smile. "Of course not, baby. Everything is perfect."
