Asher laid on her bed exhausted. She had been in the middle of packing up her few belongings and had just run out of energy. She hummed as she laid there and thought about everything that had lead her to this point. All of the things that were leading up to her moving to Brighton, England to go move in with a cousin that she only knew from her young years of childhood.
It really all started with her mom's last new boyfriend/drug dealer. He was an alcoholic pill popper that loved anything that wasn't good for the body. He also had a tendency of being violent whenever he got stupid wasted. When Asher started showing up covered in bruises and cuts thats when the first call was made. Somehow they made it off clean but she got beat brutally for it. That's when he started getting protective over his stuff.
If Asher's mom even looked at his stuff wrong, she got hit. There wasnt a day when she wasnt getting hit. But because that was how she got the drugs and booze, she would never leave him. That was until they went "out" and didn't come back. Asher had been left at home alone all I night and called the police the next morning. That's when they found her mom's corpse behind a bars dumpster.
So because she was officially without parents, Asher was forced to look at other family members to stay with. After a very thorough check, she was left with two options. Her cousin that may or may not take her or a foster home. Of course the first option seemed a bit nicer. So they contacted him and the response was rather fast.
So now Asher was forced to pack up her belongings and move to someone, who was basically a stranger to her, house. She was a bit happy though that she wasn't gonna have to go to a home. So she excepted the fact that she was gonna have to ride an airplane for the first time in her life.
After finishing packing everything into her suitcase, which still had a decent amount of space somehow, she talked to the child services guy.
"So what now?" She asked looking him dead in the eye."Now you wait till tomorrow for your ride to the airport." He responded not really caring.
"Great just great. Can I go outside? My friends out there and I have to say goodbye to him." Asher says and crosses her arms.
"Yeah just dont make out with your boyfriend there" He was being a dick because he could.
Asher groaned loudly and wpuld have punched him in the stomach if she didnt fear being in trouble for it later. She walked towards the front door, slipped on some shoes, and went outside. She sent a text to her best friend to come over, then pulled put the camera on her phone to inspect herself.
Asher had pale skin and dark hair. It was down to her waist, which wasn't far on her 4'7 ish frame, and curly as could be. She had bright beautiful blue eyes that caught the attention of many guys. The attention that usually got them black eyes. Asher also had a slender and small frame with a rack a bit too large for her body. She didnt get to think much further on it though as her friend rode up on his bike.
The kids name was TJ. He had been friends with Asher since grade school and knew just about everything about her. But it was the same the other way around as well. He walked up and hugged her tightly. She remembered one time when another boy had poi red out that they were hugging and said something about them being together. That kid ended up with a fat lip from Asher herself. It wasnt that he was ugly or anything, in fact he was quite handsome. It was just the fact that he was secretly and girls kinda repulsed him.
"Who gave you permission to leave me with all the heathens at school to go live with your cooler then shit cousin?" TJ asked letting her go.
"Not my choice. Trust me I would rather be here with you. It may be summer but that doesnt mean I'm happy about leaving. I wish I could just move in with you. It'd be simpler ya know?" Asher said sounding slightly annoyed with the situation.
"I hear ya but it won't do anything. Being minors makes us unable to do anything. We are simply subject to whatever bullshit they throw at us. Also would you stop looking like you wanna kill someone please?" TJ asked the scowling girl.
She looked back at him confused."Well I do want to but I'm not going to. And I get it I do, I just hate it." She shrugs and looks even sadder now.
"Ok listen its my last day with you, I'm not gonna deal with a depressed moody emo you." With that, TJ placed his hands on her hips and squeezed. Now even though most describe her as brave and sometimes scary, she squealed like a schoolgirl. I smile was on both of their faces.
"What the hell man?" Asher sounded a bit pissed until he spidered her sides. She began laughing crazily until she caught his hands. Then she glared a bit pulled him into a hug.
"Ok change of plans. Apparently you'll be leaving tonight. Like now. Get your things." The social worker said walking to his car.
Asher being who she was kept hugging him for a moment longer then mumbled into his ear, "Stay gay." A single tear rolled down her cheek as she let him go. He chuckled but also cried a bit silent because he didn't want her to know. He got on his bike and rode home.
Asher went and grabbed her two suitcases and came back to the car. Around her neck rested her headphones and in her pocket her phone. She packed the bags into the trunk and climbed in. Deciding her own music was more her style she put on her headphones and ignored the world. The whole trip to the airport and on the flight.
Once they touched down and were walking around the airport she noticed something. The social worker was smiling and being friendly. It was weird and she slid her headphones off so she could hear things. She realized that there was a person holding asign that read, "Asher McLoughlin". Asher clicked her tongue and the social worker turned and followed her. She realized that it was two people standing close to each other.
One was shorter then the other and stood out a bit more. The taller of the two was a bigger built more tan guy. His eyes red hair was gorgeous and his kind brown eyes looked on with a happy contentness to them. The other was pasty white with beautiful dyed green hair, but thats not what gave him away as the famous Irish man. It was his eyes which were the same as her own.
Asher couldn't help but smile as a lot of the memories came back to her. Once she made eye contact with Sean, they both stood there for a moment just looking into the all-too-familiar eyes. Then letting go of her bag, Asher ran the couple steps in between them, and right into his open arms and hugged him.
After a couple minutes Sean spoke. "Damn its good to see you again" After a minute he let her go and held her at arms length just taking her in. It had been years so it made him smile to see the growth that had taken place. He shook hands with the social worker and talked with him for a moment.
After that, the other person offered to carry her bags for her, and Asher gladly excepted. They walked to the car that belonged to Sean and all climbed in, except for the social worker who got ready to depart on his plane ride home. Once they had been driving in silence for a few moments Sean broke it.
"So because I didn't get the chance at first, this is Mark." He said and pointed to the taller half korean. Asher wanted to kick herself for not knowing who he was right off jump. She nodded though as if she knew all along.
"Nice to meet you, Asher right?" Mark asked his kindness not just seeming to float around in his eyes but also his voice. Asher nodded and watched Sean. He was sitting in the passenger seat and looking excited but anxious. That was just how she felt too.
After a while of driving and small conversation, they arrived at their home. Asher didn't know what to think as she fillowed these guys into her new home. She wondered what all adventures lied in this house and would soon find out. But she got tackled to the ground by Chica before she could finish the thought. Well that was one way to start off her new life.
