Kingdom of Evon
"This is our Kingdom, and here is the Moor Mountains that protect our kingdom from outside threats, such as?" Sir Richard prodded, looking at Davina with hopeful eyes hoping she got the answer correct this time. Being such a same age strict mentor and personal bodyguard made Davina unworthy due to her lack of will to learn one of the most boring but educational subject in her life: Maps and Origins. Which is crucial for her training to be Queen of Evon should her father, heaven's forbid, passed.
Davina bit her lip and attempt to act like she's thinking of a brilliant made up answer, but Sir Richard saw through her facade and frown as he tapped the edge of his feather pen on her forehead softly.
"You need to catch up my lady, or you will leave your parents displeased with how your progress is... going." Sir Richard says and shut down the thick leather bound book. This is not the time for her to study, perhaps. Prodding her only will lead to her bitter attitude that he had endured patiently for years in amusement. Sir Richard looked at the distressed young royal as she stared blankly at a piece of scattered notes in front of her, unreadable and written in a rush just to prove her parents she was studying. Davina wasn't lazy or stupid, she just had her heart interest somewhere else.
Or should she say, someone.
Davina looked up to Sir Richard under her lashes as she admired his focused expression when he reads. His long eyelashes can beat every other girls out there in Evon, his striking complexion and warm eyes can make all the suns melt to a giant hot puddle and it won't even compete with how attractive his body built is. Although Davina would not admire a man for his physical appearance, its a major luck that Sir Richard possessed this kind of physique.
"I would rather learn anatomy," Davina said with a sigh, not realizing she had said it out loud. But its too late to bit back her words inside now that Sir Richard had looked at her in amusement.
"Anatomy.." Sir Richard bit his lips to stop from laughing, Davina find this irritating.
"What? A girl is not smart enough to learn science? As you know, I came out as the smartest gene in the family." Davina remarked, a scowl on her face that only made her mentor cracked a chuckle.
"No, its just... Are you sure you're smart enough to learn such complex things? I think you have better luck in learning how to relax, your highness." Sir Richard said and start to back away as he noticed Davina's piercing glare at him.
"Oh no you did not." Davina said, inching her body closer to his.
"Then prove it, give me your correct answer to the previous question." Sir Richard challenged.
Davina leaned back as the gears in her head started turning. She was sure she heard a bit of names coming out of his mouth when they revised the chapter. What was it again? Orc? Callaus? Farren?
Davina took a blind chance this time and hoped that her pride remained intact.
"The.. Orcs from the far North of the mountains. Strange horns, sharp teeths, scaly legs." Davina said it pretense confidence.
Sir Richard stared at her in amazement, lifting Davina's spirits to the roof. Only to be crashed down when he bop her nose with his finger.
"Wrong. I never heard of such creatures before, are they the mermans?" Sir Richard chuckled as he scribbled down a note on her report notebook.
She stared as he engraved a letter "∅" On the scoring section, which means she failed the third chapter of the book. Davina sighed deeply.
"Can you let me go this time? Please? I'll reward you with something good." Davina smiled a little and nudged Sir Richard with her arm, hoping to coax him to lie for her.
