"That's it. I'm calling an annual best friend day," the game was over. It was close but the boys ended up winning it. They were on a winning streak and Demi knew that it was because it was the last season for some of the boys on varsity and they wanted it to be their best.

"A best friend day? Come on Neverson, when did you get so cheesy?" She shoved him off of her because he was really sweaty from his game and she wasn't smelling the freshest either. It was hard lifting 100 pound girls into the air and not dropping them. Not to mention how she was constantly defying gravity with her tumbling.

"I'm trying to be cute. But anyways, it's a day for just the two of us. You've been all up under Chris lately. I want my best friend back," Demi stopped and raised her eyebrow at Trey. Sure she had been hanging out with Chris more but Chris was her best friend too. What was she supposed to do? Ignore him and always hang out with Trey?

"We're all best friends, remember? Why don't we all hang out together?" Demi suggested.

"Because Chris is hanging out with Kae on Saturday and I want you to myself," Demi shrugged because Trey had just been all up in his emotions lately. She would let him have his best friend day since he felt like they never spent any time together anymore, even if it technically wasn't her fault.

"So did Patrick come back yet?" Trey questioned and Demi nodded her head.

"His trip was postponed for a few days but he landed this morning which means that we'll be bed buddies again. If that's alright with your girlfriend," Demi added in the last part when she saw Jhene walking up to them after putting her pom pons away.

"Good job today baby," Jhene stood on the tips of her toes to kiss him and Demi had to take a moment to silently gush over their height difference. She was so good at playing match maker, she should totally start getting paid for it.

"And what's this about bed buddies?" Demi nor Trey wanted to explain the situation to Jhene so Demi quickly came up with a lie...or at least half the truth.

"I get these really bad night terrors and I've had them since I was a child and so it's become sort of a habit to sneak over to Trey's house when I get them and I end up sleeping in his bed...not like that but like...for comfort," Demi explained and Trey nodded at her impressive lie.

"Oh...well if that's all I don't mind. You are his best friend after all," Demi didn't catch the extra emphasis that she put on the word "friend" but Trey did, and he didn't need Jhene checking his friendship with Demi.

"Great. I'm gonna go get changed and stuff. Bye," Demi walked into the locker room and Jhene turned to Trey.

"I'm glad that you have a friend like Demi, but remember who your girlfriend is, okay?" Jhene pecked his cheek before heading into the locker room and Trey rolled his eyes. And that was exactly why he hadn't been in a relationship since freshmen year.

Trey: come over

Demi: Trey seriously? It's like three am.

Trey: pls?

Demi groaned and kicked her covers off, stuffing her feet into her boots before sliding her window open and hopping out. Patrick was still out so she guessed she was just sneaking out early tonight. Demi took her sweet time walking over to Trey's window. She tapped on it and he helped her in before shuffling back over to his bed.

"You could've waited," Demi mumbled, kicking her boots off and going to sit next to him on the bed, but he quickly shifted and placed his head in her lap, and since she was wearing shorts, his heated skin burned her thighs.
