CHRISTINA'S POV

"Christina"

I was momentarily shocked that the next thing I knew I am engulfed by a bear hug by the person who called my name.

"Oh! You look amazing in that dress," she gushed after breaking the tight hug she gave me.

"Thanks...Alex," I said to her and noticed that she was also dressed up, "you look beautiful too!"

She was still cracking a smile after she said thanks. I told her how amazed I was with her work, the ballroom was decorated exquisitely which was far from the hectic setting up made just hours ago. She's really made this ballroom shine for this event.

Too caught up with Alex I was facing her direction, forgetting the initial plan I was to do before I saw her. Well, technically she saw me. She was talking about all the decorations, but
I can feel him before I see him grazed my side and cut of Alexandria's speech.

"There you are. I've been looking for you." Hearing his voice once again launches another set of butterflies in my stomach. He was holding my waist from the sides and leaning down to my ears to whisper, not minding that I was having company.

I was about to reply to him when Alex opened her mouth after her surprise, "Blake?"

That got his attention.

"Sister."

"What?"

Well, that got mine.

I was confused that I'm looking from Alex's blue eyes and back to Blake's similar ones.

Similar Striking Blue.

"Blake's my brother. I was Alexandria Stanford before I married Matthew and became a Harrison." Alex explained, seeing her brother has just dropped that information on me.

This makes me question myself back that I really don't know who Blake is.
There's so much to learn about him that I never knew at all.

A gentle squeeze on my side alerts me back to where I am. Alex must have noticed the gesture and raised an eyebrow to her brother in question. Blake was shaking his headed as if to say'not this time'  and like a silent message, Alex turned to me again with a small smile.

"It was great seeing you again Christina. We should meet again soon over cake," she said giggle at her last words.

I nodded at her before saying 'yes' and we said our goodbyes to each other then, I was dragged off by the same arms that I clutched coming here earlier.

Who would have known that tonight will be full of unexpected events. I was hoping of blending in the shadows like I used to do. Yet, here I am with one of New York's Bachelor as my date to my stepsister's engagement party. Which also translate to having a dramatic night of jealous woman, stared at wondering eyes of men, and a mother that wants all the attention to her super model daughter.

On my normal weekends, I'll be snuggled in my bed over a good cooking show not caring about anything related with the outside world.

That's what I need now.

Blake pulled me out of the hotel and onto the awaiting car that the valet picked up. We were settled in no time and he was driving back to the highway. The car was wrapped in silence. Leaving me to stare at the passing view out of my window. A hand land lands on top of my knees in a soft grip before the dead silence was broken.

"Stay with me tonight," Blake said glancing at me once and returning his focus on the road ahead us.

"I-I can't," shaking my head to refused his bid but was cut by his sincere plea.
