Chapter 2- Gaining Spider Effects

The next day I woke up and I got ready for school. I felt completely fine compared to last night. I guess I just picked up some allergies or something. I headed towards the kitchen, where my parents are already starting breakfast for themselves before they're off to work. I gave them a wave as I passed them to go out the door.

I was walking my way to school when Peter caught up to me. I mean, he was my neighbor in the apartment complex.

"Dahlia, Dahlia! I need to show you something!" He spurred excitedly.

"Okay," I said blankly.

He took me to an alley between a burger spot and a hair salon. This was unusual. I had doubts about the importance of the situation until I saw him shoot a white substance from his wrist.

"What the fu-"

"When you gave me that spider the other day I felt a little weird and then things started to come out of me-" He sputtered out nonsense.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, chill out Peter!" I covered my ears and squeezed my eyes shut, trying to ban the image my mind conjured in my head.

Then he said "You try!"

I raised a brow at the request, "Uh, yeah, no. I don't feel like breaking a wrist today."

"Come on, please! I don't wanna feel crazy, I mean, you held it too, right? Didn't you feel weird too?"

"I-"

I really didn't want to talk about last night, especially to my crush. I didn't want to feel whiny but before I could hold the words back,

"Yeah, I had a headache and such."

"Then at least try?" He asked, almost begging.

He was a weakness of mine, and I couldn't say no.

I bent my wrist in a similar way that he did and surprisingly, a light blue color exited my wrists and stuck to the wall away from me. My eyes widened in surprise at this.

"We can't tell anyone about this?" Peter asked, looking at his own hands.

"Don't worry, we won't, right?" I looked at him expectantly.

"Right," He agreed.

So then we walked to school, and had a great day, ignoring the new aspect of ourselves.
