Roman's mouth went dry, her head fuzzy. Was she dreaming? Was this some kind of side effect of Abby's stupid tests? She just couldn't believe it. Last time she saw Octavia, the toddler was being dragged away by guards and led towards the airlock. And Roman thought that would be the last time she saw her.

Octavia jumped into Roman's arms. They stood, hugging and crying for some time, until the drop ship began to shudder.

"Prepare for take-off. I gotta go back to my seat. But I'll come back as soon as we land, okay?" Roman let go of Octavia, but not of her huge ear-to-ear smile.
Octavia took her seat and Roman fastened her seat belt. "Wait, don't go. I'm scared."

"Hey, hey. Remember what I used to tell you. Don't be afraid, it'll be okay. I'll see you soon, okay. Good girl."

The ship began to shudder even more and Roman ran back to her seat. She sunk into it and just cried. Tears of joy, of course. She thought Octavia was dead. And now she was here. On the ship, going to Earth. She used to talk about Earth all the time and now she was going. She just couldn't believe Octavia was here. She couldn't wait to properly reunite with her when they landed.
Suddenly the whole drop ship shook violently and Roman held onto her seat. She looked out of the window and saw the stars flying past her. To he honest, that would be one of the only things Roman would miss about the Ark. Sitting and looking out the window - staring into the open for hours.
After a few minutes, the shuddering calmed. Some boys began to unclip their belts and float around the ship.
"Hey! Stop!" A blond girl, about seventeen ish, yelled to the boys. Clarke Griffin. The crazy doctor, Abby's, daughter. She had never met Clarke before. Roman stared at her for a while, amazed by how beautiful she was. She didn't even realise she was staring until Clarke looked at her, confused. Roman just smiled awkwardly and looked away.
"Finn! Sit down!" Another girl yelled.
Finn? Was that Finn Collins? Her other best friend who she also hadn't seen in years.
"Finn?" Roman called.
"Oh my gosh! Roman!" He floated over to her and gave her a hug.
"What the hell did you do to end up here!?" Since she hadn't seen him in years, she didn't know he had been arrested. He shrugged his shoulders.
"A space walk? Really? That wasted our oxygen!" Roman giggled. She couldn't help it. Finn was always saying how he wanted to go outside and float in the stars.
"Now sit down before you get thrown into the walls!" But as she spoke, Finn did just that. The ship began to smoke and shake violently, throwing Finn to the wall, opposite Roman.
"Finn!" She called, but her call got lost in the sound of the drop ship hitting the ground, delinquents screaming, and machinery humming. The first thing Roman did was run over to Octavia.
"Are you okay?" Octavia had blood dripping from her head.
"It hurts, Roman." She started to cry.
"Don't worry. We're going to clean you up and make it better. Now, wait here. I'll be right back." This time, she ran to Finn. He was also covered in blood.
"I guess I should've listened to you, and sat down, eh?" He laughed.
"Yeah, you should have." Roman helped Finn up, and they walked with Octavia over to the drop ship door. A tall boy pushed everyone, who were crowding around the door, just waiting to see Earth, and made his way to the front. He was definitely the oldest here. He didn't look like a kid. He looked older. Like an adult. Wearing guards uniform. Was he here to spy on us? And report back to Chancellor Jaha?
"Hey! What are you here for? To spy on us? He's a guard!" Finn yelled, which caused everyone else to yell.
"Listen! I'm not here to spy. I'm not even a guard. I stole the uniform to sneak onto the ship. I couldn't stand to be on the Ark for another minute, so when I saw the chance to sneak on, I took it." He announced to everyone. "Now, do you all want to see Earth now?"
"No!" It was Clarke Griffin again. "We can't just open the door like that. The air could be toxic!"
"If the air is toxic, we're all dead anyway." Bellamy replied, at the same time as pulling the lever.
Light flooded into the ship and it stung Roman's eyes. When they finally adjusted to the light, Roman could see it. She could see Earth. It was beautiful. Tree's were every where. And there was grass growing in between them. The sky was blue and the air smelt - fresh.
"Can I see it, Roman?" Octavia asked. Roman picked her up and Octavia stared in amazement. "It's so pretty!" She said.
"Damn right it is." Bellamy smiled at Octavia and Roman. "Want to go first?"
Roman put Octavia down and she ran to Bellamy.
"Can I really?" She looked up at Bellamy.
"Sure. Go for it."
Octavia turned to look at Roman for permission and she nodded. Octavia hesitated for a minute, but then jumped down onto the grass. She turned to look at Roman, and began to giggle. She was the first person on Earth in 97 years!
"I'm on Earth!" She yelled, as loud as she could.
This caused all the other kids to get excited and they ran down onto the ground, touching the trees and taking their shoes off to feel the grass on their feet. Bellamy was running with Octavia and she looked so happy, smiling and giggling.

Roman was the last on the ship.
She thought of her parents. They would have loved to see this. Roman wished they were here to experience this with her and Octavia. But Jaha had ruined that.
She stood watching Octavia play until Finn came running back onto the ship.
"Come on, Roman! It's amazing out here! You gotta see!" He took her by the hand and led her round the back of the drop ship. The sun shone through the gaps of the trees and there was a slight breeze.
"It's perfect." She whispered.
