As we drove it started to get dark out. Rain was splashing against the windows.
Mariana sat in the passenger seat gazing out the window. She was so gorgeous.
I almost couldn't stand it.
"What is that sound?" She asked softly.
I smiled. Her voice was so soft and gentle. So delicate. So soothing. I looked over to her
not quite sure what she was talking about.
"What, you mean the rain?" I asked.
"Oh. Yes. The rain." She said smiling.
I couldn't help but smile back. I turned my eyes back to the road that lied ahead of us.
All dark and wet. Now that she was back in my life (not that she has ever left (my heart)
my life) even the darkest nights seemed like the brightest.
"Do you want something to eat, babe?" I asked.
She turned her head towards me and smiled.
"Food?" She asked.
I tried not to laugh. I smiled at her.
"Well, unless you want to eat dirt, than yes, food." I said.
"Ew dirt!" She made a playful disgusted face.
It was the most adorable thing I have ever seen. I smiled.
I took the next exit toward London....
