A Thousand Years

Chapter V

(Her wings, just imagine the horns.)

"Just a moment, young lady." Aro said, I stopped in my tracks and turned around and looked at him. "You also have a peculiar heart, do you not?"

"I do, my blood also runs through my veins." I stated.

"Lies!" Caius spits, I narrow my eyes at him. I bring my hand to my mouth and bit down, an ice crunching sound is herd, my blood then spills from my wound. I can hear hisses from both sides of the field. "How is that possible?" I smirked, knowing I won. I then looked at Aro's chest, and gasped, he's wearing the same necklace that I have in my pocket.

"May I have your hand, please?" Aro asks, I nod, giving him my hand, I showed him everything about me, every little detail, even my mother's letter. "Who has had to replace their necklace in the last 22 years?"

"Afton." Jane said, someone walking could be herd, a man with black hair and red eyes, with a porcelain complexion walks towards the front. When his eyes meet my face, he gasps.

"Greer?" He asks.

"Greer was my mother." I said, I then pulled out the necklace and showed it to everyone. "Are you my father?" Aro takes Arron's hand and searches his memories, Aro then slaps Afton across the face.

"It would seem our dear Afton had an affair 22 years ago with a human woman, who carried his child and never told us." Aro said, he then looked back at me. I couldn't stand there any longer, I flew, yup you heard me right, I used my wings to fly me to where my new friends and Garrett stood.

"Bring the informant forward." Caius said, getting back to the task on hand. I was still so confused, I was shaking. How could I not know that my own father was a vampire and the member of the Volturi. I snapped my attention back to the Volturi, a few guards brought Irina to where Caius and Aro stood. "Is that the child you saw?" Caius asked her, pointing to Renesmee.

"I'm not sure." Irina said, looking down.

"Jane." Caius said, Jane went to take a step forward, but Irina spoke up.

"She's changed. This child is bigger." Irina defended herself.

"Then your allegations were false." Caius sneered.

"The Cullens are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake." Irina then looked towards her sisters. "I'm sorry." She whispered. Demetri lit a fire, Felix and Santiago stepping to/behind Irina.

"Caius, no!" Edward yelled. Demetri handed Caius the lit torch, Felix and Santiago pulling Irina's arms off, the her head, and lastly lighting her frozen body on fire.

"Irina!" Tanya yelled, both her and Kate went to fun to their sister, I grabbed Tanya, while Garrett grabbed Kate, immediately shocking him. Bella then placed Renesmee on top of Jacob.

"Blind them." Edward told Zafrina. Garrett and I turned the sisters towards her, immediately making them see what she wants them to see.

"Give me my sight back." Tanya said, as she dug her nails into my skin, I cried out in pain as small droplets of my blood hit the snow covered ground. Hearing a hiss, I looked over to see Felix had started walking towards us, but Aro stopped him. Marcus whispered to Aro, Aro then grabbing Felix's hand and looking towards me.

"Tanya, this is what they want." Edward tried to reason with her. If you attack now, we'll all die." Slowly, I released Tanya, looking down at my arms, her nails dug so deep, they look like crescent moons. I kneeled down and put some snow on them, to make the bleeding stop.

"Jasmine, I'm sorry." I stood up and looked at Tanya, I smiled at her.

"It's okay, Tanya, really. I'll be fine." She nodded and gently hugged me, without thinking I looked to Felix, his eyes never left my body.

"Pain." Was all Jane said, I looked at Edward, he grunted and fell to the ground. I ran in front of him, my wings shielding him. Bella then stepped forward and used her shield to cover us all. Jane looked from each and everyone of us, trying hurt us, but failed.

"It's working." Edward said, placing a hand on my shoulder and waking towards his wife. Jane began to walk towards us, but Alec stopped her from going any further. Alec then opened his hands, his black mist forming, but Aro stopped him.

"Aro, you see there's no law broken here." Carlisle stated.

"Agreed." Aro began. "But does it then follow that there is no danger. For the first time in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us. Containing our secret has never been more imperative. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable. And we know nothing of what this child could become."

"I'm like Renesmee." I stepped forward, Aro's eyes on me. "I didn't even know I was half human and half vampire until 20 minutes ago. I never even tasted human blood until three years ago, nor did I know I could do this." I opened my wings to show what I meant to everyone. "If I can blend in with the humans, so can she."

Two figures then came walking from the forest, I looked over to see Alice and Jasper, the two Edward told be about. Alice looked at me, she nodded and I nodded back. Her and Jasper walked towards Aro. Demetri and two other guards stopped them both, before they could get any closer.

"My dear, dead Alice, we're so glad to see you here after all." Aro said.

"I have evidence that the child and Jasmine won't be a risk to our kind." Alice stated. "Let me show you." She held out her hand. Aro motioned her towards him, she removed Demetri's hand and walked towards Aro. Demetri then slapped Jasper across the face, I snickered, Edward nudging my arm, I quickly covered my mouth, my eyes looking at Felix who gave a slight smirk as well. Aro took Alice's hand in and searched her thoughts.
