Sherlock's POV
"Eight gardens of gnomes vanish into thin air. No clues.
Not so much as a single footprint.
There is only one ornament evil enough and brilliant enough to pull off such a diabolical scheme.........Moriarty." I stated, staring down at the cloud-covered neighborhoods.
"Moriarty? But that's impossible. Moriarty was smashed. We saw it." Watson said defiantly.
"We can't have seen the complete picture. He's alive." I murmured as a flash of white and black caught my eyes. There, sitting atop a nearby building, was Moon. Her tail flicked side to side as she surveyed the land, then as quick as she arrived, she bound away through the yards and trees, searching each garden for gnomes.
Smiling softly, I watched her go.
"How could he possibly have survived? Anyway, Moriarty always left us a clue, his calling card." Watson's words broke me out of my trance, along with a steady pinging of the starting raining on the roof where we stood.
"Yes. What am I missing?" I took a moment of deep thought then it hit me.
"Watson, give me your map. The gnomes that just moved in... Where do they live?"
"I believe right here."
"A-ha! Do you see, Watson? Moriarty has left
his calling card. "M"! Hurry, Watson! Those gnomes are in terrible danger." I slid off the roof of the building where we resided
