corbyn didn't come the next afternoon, as daniel hoped he would. he usually came an hour or two after school, but that day he didn't. instead, it happened at night, around ten, to be exact. the nuns have seen enough to know who he was. when one of the younger nuns called daniel to go downstairs, the blue-eyed boy found corbyn sitting on one of the sofas while a group of smaller girls surrounded him.

"are you the lovely prince of daniel?" a toothless seven-year-old girl asked corbyn, while laughing.

daniel felt his cheeks burning. no, please don't do this to me.

"of course i am." daniel heard corbyn say, which made his hope rise.

the girl without teeth ran out of breath, before bursting into a mismatch of giggles. "i wish the boys here were princes like you."

corbyn chuckled, ruffling the girl's messy blonde hair. "surely all of them will become princes in the end."

daniel had enough of what he heard, so he came out of his hiding place and approached the blond to drag him from the crowd of girls. "come on, besson." he murmured.

"are you going to take dani to your magical kingdom now?" asked another squeaky voice, making daniel feel ashamed and nervous.

"how did you know it?" joked corbyn.

"shouldn't the girls be in bed?" sister grace appeared from the door, crossing her arms. immediately, all the girls rushed out of the living room, turning off the television on the way. sister grace winked at daniel before leaving to follow the girls upstairs. she probably wanted to make sure they brushed their teeth and were in bed.

the blue-eyed boy pulled corbyn into the main hall of the orphanage, crossing his arms as he looked at him accusingly. "now the girls will annoy me forever about you." he sighed. "what are you doing here?"

corbyn smiled slightly. "i want to take you somewhere."

daniel frowned as his suspicions increased. "you really won't take me to a magical kingdom, right?"

the blonde boy laughed, shaking his head as he led him out of the orphanage. he opened the door of his car to daniel and it is possible that the blue eyed boy got into the car to close it. then he entered the driver's area and sat down. "nope." he paused, to put on his seat belt. "just wait and see."

daniel crossed his arms, looking out the window when corbyn started driving. moments later, he noticed that they were in the parking lot of the seafront next to the city. the lights were all on and daniel's blue eyes were immediately attracted to the ferris wheel.

daniel didn't hesitate to ask when he got out of the car to walk next to the blonde. "why did you bring me here? daniel asked surprised.

corbyn smiled. "it's a beautiful place. i used to go all the time when i was a child. but i stopped going a while ago."

"why?" daniel asked, looking at corbyn.

however, corbyn wasn't looking at him. instead, his green eyes were dazed and distant, as he looked at all the flickering lights. daniel couldn't help noticing that his eyes looked brighter under all those lights. he was the kind of emerald green that almost seemed unreal.
