Before the universe began, there was a great war in Heaven itself. A selfish angel, Lucifer, wanted to become the most powerful being. He even said that he was more powerful than God Himself. So he protested, gathered his followers and fought the other angels.
With this war, God was enranged that He cast Lucifer and the other protesters to hell. To prevent further conflict, God therefore split His angels into five federations;
The Light (Lumen) shall live in the heavens and be pure angels. These are the Angels who prayed for benefaction from God and the angels of Mary.
The Dark (Obscurum) shall live with the Humans, protecting them from the Demons. These are the Angels who fought at war to gain the peace at Heaven and the Angels of St. Micheal.
The Humans (Mortalis) shall live as mortals and spend their whole lives praying and serving God. These are the descendants of Adam and Eve.
The Demons (Daemonium) shall lurk in the darkness, tempting Humans to commit sins, feeding on their souls and shall live their immortal life being burned in fire. These are the followers of Lucifer.
The Oracles (Oracula) shall live in between the four, and shall live for eternity serving the families of royalty and holy, and to foretell the upcoming. These are the servants of The Fates.
The Five shall live in peace eternally..
And those were God's words.
