Chapter 5 "Silence"

Conan POV

The next morning i was cooking breakfast for Gavin. He came into the kitchen sitting down he had a huge hangover "Ugh what happened last night?" He asked "You got drunk and kissed me." I told him the truth.

He immediately jumped and backed away making the chair he was sitting in fall "W-What! You're lying, please tell me your lying!" He begged "I wish I was, if you ever touch me again as more than just a friend or partner you will be sorry!" I warned Gavin he looked at me with confusion at my sudden hostility "I'm sorry Gavin but I just don't like you in that way I'm in love with someone else" I said he looked at me and smirked

"ooooo Tin-can's got a crush" He said childishly "And you wouldn't call what you did to me last night having a crush?" I retorted "hey! What I did meant nothing I was drunk and you happened to be at my house!" Gavin said.

After Gavin ate the breakfast i cooked for him we headed to work.

Once we got there I went to talk to The Lieutenant and Connor I approached Lieutenant Anderson's desk, I saw him but... not Connor.

"Lieutenant, where is Connor?" I asked "Oh he stayed home, said something like he had an error he needed to fix I dunno." Lieutenant Anderson said, I nodded kinda sad "he said it was no big deal though so don't worry." Lieutenant Anderson said seeing the sad look on my face "thank you." I said politely and walked away.

When our shift ended me and Gavin were about to go home but i wanted to check on Connor.

"Hey Gavin?" i began he looked at me "I'm gonna check on Connor, the Lieutenant said he had an error, I'll meet you at the house later." I said "Um alright, isn't he like your brother?" Gavin said Connor and i hadn't told anyone about our encounter at least not yet. I didn't know how to answer so I just kinda nodded cause I knew if I said no he'd assume me and Connor were in a relationship and he'd start telling people and teasing us and I wasn't really sure if we were in a relationship yet...

I just knew I loved him... I wanted to protect him and be with him.

I walked all the way to the Lieutenant's house and knocked on the door awaiting patiently.

I waited a couple minutes before knocking again.

Finally the door opened but it wasn't Connor is was the lieutenant "Oh hey Conan, what are you doing here so late?" He asked.

"I wanted to see how Connor was doing." I said the lieutenant nodded "Alright well come on in, he's in his room, i haven't seen him since this morning maybe it'd be good for another android to talk to him and find out whats wrong." the Lieutenant said he moved out of the way and opened the door wider allowing me inside.

I walked in and walked over to Connor's bedroom door i knocked....

No answer.

I knocked again "Connor?" i said "Its me, Conan, let me in" I said through the door.

Again No answer.

I jiggled the doorknob, it was locked.

I looked over to the lieutenant "Do you have a key?" I asked he nodded and walked over reaching to the top of the doorframe collecting a and handing it to me "I know I don't say this a lot but... I do care about him, he won't talk to me... Please find out whats wrong so we can fix it I hate seeing him like this." The Lieutenant said quietly I nodded and unlocked the door opening it slowly and quietly Connor was on the bed curled up inside the covers hugging a pillow tightly and burying his face into his to muffle is cries.

I walked over to him and sat on the edge of the bed I put my hand on his shoulder "Connor what's wrong, talk to me." i said

He swatted my hand away "Go away-y Conan, y-you never cared about me! I thought w-we had something I t-thought you..." Connor said his voice was drowned out by tears his voice cracking

"you thought what?" I asked quietly my voice filled with care Connor didn't answer

"please... talk to me." I said

"I s-saw you... I-i saw you l-last night..." Connor said through muffled cries "C-connor, its not what you think... Gavin was drunk... He kissed me." I tried to explain "Will you s-stop! I g-get it, you love him now, not me!" Connor cried

"Connor... that kiss meant nothing to me. I felt nothing. I was thinking of you the entire time. I love you, Connor. I always have and I always will and nothing Gavin does or anyone else can change that!" I said he looked up from the pillow his crying stopping "r-really?" Connor asked i caressed his face softly wiping the tears away i nodded "Yes, Connor." i said softly

He leaned in and kissed me passionately he whispered in my ear "i love you too, Conan." he said and hugged me i hugged him back.
