Imagine a world clouded in pitch black, no buildings, no trees, no people and no light not even so much as a glow. Days, years, decades have passed since I was first condemned to wonder this dark place by myself. Sometimes while drifting aimlessly threw the black space I would try and wonder where the book is by now. I'm sure it hasn't strayed far from America but how should I know the only thing I can do to tell where I am is a old fashioned mirror floating threw this hell of a world that allows me to get a glimpse of the surrounding around the book but that is hardily enough information for me to go on. I wonder if I am going to continue to stay in this silly world until I go insane, I don't think I can last much longer I can feel the icy grip of insanity slowly creeping into my mind and taking hold.

With a heavy sigh Alex walked into the local library with his head hung low and a hoody over his head keeping his face hidden. Why couldn't my little sister just get her stupid my little pony book herself or at least come with me so she could get it herself instead of making me look like an idiot. Alex thought as he looked around the library and found it quiet and almost empty. A strange feeling began to grow in the pit of his stomach and he started feeling almost uneasy. There was a strange chill to the large room even thought it was middle of summer. Alex walked slowly towards the counter where he saw a small old lady with mysterious forest green eyes hidden behind long bangs of grey and brown hair. He cleared his throat, catching the attention of the woman sitting at the counter and then smiled at her.

"I was wondering if you have a book under the name of Lucy. She ordered it last week and was told to collect it today"

The old woman slowly lifted her head and smiled a strange and unsettling smile.

"Oh yes, of cause. Come with me child"

She picked up a cane made of ebony and slowly rose from her chair with the sickening cracks and pops of her joints clicking back into place. She made a small muffled sound before turning to Alex and nodded her head then walked from around the bench and lead him deep into the maze of shelves and books. They finally reached the centre of the library, the air was especially chilly in the centre of the library like a sinister presence was looming close to the shadows and refused to reveal itself. The old woman reached into the darkness of the book shelves and pulled out a pink book covered in cartoon ponies with the bold title 'my little ponies' written on the front cover. I still have no idea why Lucy still reads these kinds of books at the age of 13, it's childish. Alex thought then reached out his hand and took it gently with a small smile and his cheeks tinting pink. The old woman grinned at him then turned her back to him and chuckled softly.

"Your a strange child but I see in your eyes you are worthy of being the master of this"

She turned around once again with another book in her frail looking hands. It was much larger covered in torn, ruined brown leather and had a strange symbol in the middle of the cover. It was a star with a circle around it.

"I wonder where I've seen that symbol before"

He muttered under his breath more to himself then the old lady who was now chuckling to herself.

"Do not be alarmed, I'm sure you will enjoy this book. My name is Carol and if you need anything then do not hesitate to ask my dear child. Look after this book until it opens and revels its secrets"

She gave it to me then started walking towards the sheaves.

"Look after that book with your life it is all she has left now"

The old woman muttered before vanishing in the shadows. Alex went to reach for the woman but found the place she had walked in was empty. Only shadows lingered there now. Confused as to where the old woman went, Alex went up to the counter to find no one so he left with both books under his arm tucked away safely. I wonder what that old woman was talking about and how did she just vanish like that?. Alex thought with obvious wonder and confusion all over his face. He jogged home sweating and panting as the harsh summer heat blasted down on him from above. The jumper felt like a blanket made from the fiery pits of hell by the time Alex got back home. He rushed into the nice air-conditioned house and threw off the jumper as fast as he could. Alex's little sister, Lucy, ran into the room giggling with her friend close behind. Lucy wore her lovely golden hair in a pony tail to keep it from sticking to the back of her neck with three bobby pins stuck in her hair. Her friend who's name is Nina had short brown hair cut in a boy style similar to Alex's own black hair that swept just over his stormy blue eyes. Lucy and Alex may be siblings but they look nothing alike, Lucy took after her mother and Alex took after his father although Lucy did have the same dark blue eyes as Alex has. Alex passed the book over to Lucy who giggled at him.
