Herobrine breathed heavily, blood dripping from his mouth as the poison coursed its way through his body. Every nerve was on fire, he was in utter agony. Everyday Herobrine felt his spirit and soul break more and more, fueling the fire of rage towards Notch. His mortal self dissolved little by little with each new torture he endured. However he refused to be broken completely, the thought of Sirenia coming to visit him was what kept him from fully succumbing to the demon.

The demon part of Herobrine just could not understand why a mortal woman would beg for him to be spared, to not be sent back to the Nether. Nobody ever cared about him, nobody! Not even his own brothers cared about him, they all saw him as a mistake, a monster. He hated all humans, and could not comprehend why it was he saw fit to spare her that night. "I'm getting soft!" He muttered to himself before coughing up blood. Footsteps approached the cell and he glared into the darkness, searching for the source of the footsteps. It was Notch. Of course it was Notch. Notch stood outside Herobrine's cell not saying anything, just staring.

A staring contest began between the two, neither was going to admit submission to the other. Eventually though, Herobrine had to look away. Notch chuckled. "How do you feel dear brother?~" Venom dripped from his voice as he uttered the word 'brother'. Herobrine said nothing, refusing to let Notch get to him, refusing to submit to his authority. Notch continued to speak, intentionally taunting Herobrine. "You saved a mortal woman, you HAVE gotten soft. You did not kill her like all the others, why is that? Is it because you are weak? It must be. The Herobrine I know would have snapped her neck without a second thought. I admit she is quite pretty, way out of your league. You're a mistake, a glitch, do you think anyone could EVER love you?! HA!"

Herobrine snarled at Notch, enraged by his words. It was his mortal form that spoke, not his Demon form. It hurt to speak because of the poison but he ignored it. "SHE HAS A HEART! UNLIKE YOU!! She made me feel something that I have never, ever known in my thousand year existence. She showed me love." Notch went completely silent before bursting out into laughter. "OH THAT'S A RIOT!! AHAHAHA!! YOU?! LOVE?!! HAHAHA!!" Herobrine glared at Notch as he laughed. Notch wiped away the tears he cried from laughing so hard. "Ooohoo. For that Herobrine, you won't be tortured for 24 hours. I have not laughed so hard in centuries."

Notch walked away from Herobrine's cell, still chuckling. Herobrine closed his eyes, then let out a cry of agony. Blood gushed from his mouth, his vocal chords tore themselves to shreds. The physical pain was bearable, but this sense of total hopelessness and heartache was to much. Unable to deal with this 'new' pain he retreated deep into himself, letting the demon take over once again.
