The Past

Akane's POV

I woke from the most painful thumping in my head. I had dazedly scanned the area around me and realised I was in a unknown place.

Where the hell am I?

I was in a fancy looking room but it wasn't my room, it looked too out dated and the sheets are different to my room. I got off the bed seeing the door slightly open a bit.

I waited for something to come in and attack me like one of the perverted vampire brothers, but in came a little frail boy.

"Ayato" The boy shouted softly

Kanato? But he looks too young to be Kanato

"Kanato it's me Akane" I say

Kanato who couldn't hear me was still searching the room and then he disappears out the door into the hall.

I was confused with the scene in front of me, curious I started to trail his footsteps until we reached outside the mansion and saw most of the Sakamaki family sitting near the gardens.

Kanato headed towards a lady with beautiful long purple hair which obviously was his mum, Cordelia.

My dad roughly told me stories and showed photos about the Sakamaki's and honestly most of it was messed up. They are a big vampire family who are very powerful and can get what they want.

"Little Songbird, please sing for your mother" Cordelia said to Kanato.

Kanato happily nodded at his mother and opened his mouth to beautiful singing.

Examining more of the area I catch Ayato and Laito chasing each other around the garden.

"Ayato! How many times do I have to tell you. I can't have you playing around like that I need you to focus on studying nothing else". Cordelia growls at him

Ayato has a pained look on his face
"But mother all I do is study why can't I play like everyone else?" he protested.

"You are not like other children Ayato like I said you are the successor of this family and you can't fail me".
"remember what will happen when you fail me, don't forget". She states

Ayato gives up the fight and runs aways from the group.

Watching Ayato's silhouette retreat, I think about the scene that just unfolded right in front of me.

Cordelia was so unfair to Ayato to the point I actually felt sorry for him, No wonder he acts the way he is now.

The atmosphere in this area gives me Déjà vu as if I've been here before when I was younger but can't seem to remember anything.

I move along to another part of the big garden and see a young Reiji reading a book and what seems to be their mother, Beatrix sewing on a table.

A cheerfully young boy who is likely Shu is holding a puppy in his arms. Beatrix notices the puppy in his arms and asks,

"Shu what are you doing with that puppy?"

Presenting the puppy with excited, "a friend of mine gave him to me, isn't he cute?".

"Release the dog immediately Shu" Beatrix demands

"But mother I promised Edger I would look after him".

"You are the eldest son therefore you are the next head of the family, you need to conduct yourself at all times". Beatrix shaking her head

A butler comes up to Shu attempting to remove the puppy off him but still doesn't let go because of the promise.

Beatrix walks up to Shu and looks at him with flames. Shu instantly lets go of the puppy and runs away.

Reiji saw the opportunity to share his achievement. "Mother I have finished memorizing the entire book".

Unfortunately Beatrix ignores what he said and continued to sew while Reiji sat in his chair with a angry look on his face.

Same with Cordelia, Beatrix is just as harsh to Shu.

I walked towards a tall looking tower which had a little white haired boy with a small knife in his hand standing at the bottom looking up at the tower.

Looking up myself I saw a gorgeous white haired woman looking at the boy, realising it was Subaru she woman turns away from the window.

The young Subaru puts his head down then drops the small knife he was holding.

I then see Cordelia talking with Richter the uncle of the Sakamaki children which I recognised from some old photos my dad showed me. Watching this it was obvious that Cordelia was having affair with Richter as they flirt with each other. I notice Ayato with a angry look staring at them. Suddenly everything starts to turn grey and Cordelia turns to look at me, I try to head towards her but I feel weak and tired. I feel my body giving up and then I collapse on the spot.

Waking up for real I found out I was back in the Sakamaki household.

What the hell just even happened??

Looking on my left side I jump from the presence of Ayato sitting on my bed.

"We finally got you back Melon-chan" Ayato says

"Huh how in the-"

In a swift movement I'm pinned to the bed, Ayato's puts all his body weight on me so I can't move.

"Excuse me pervert but get the hell off me" I retort

Ayato smirks at me and comes closer to my face then moves down to my exposed neck, he has his fangs ready to bite down.

before anything could process I get a sudden vision of young Ayato drowning in a dark lake screaming for help, the scene plays but then shows a young girl with pink hair running into the lake to save the downing Ayato. She moves fast to Ayato, grabs him in a way he wouldn't drown and swam him to shore. 

Ayato coughs up water and looks at the young girl, he inspects her face and tries to thank her for saving him
But is left behind at the lake as she quickly ran off into the bushes. Confused Ayato couldn't attempt to chase her after he almost experienced death, he simply didn't forget the heroic stranger.

Escaped from the vision I punched Ayato's stomach with a hard fist and pushed him off me. I ran out into the hallway and searched for Yui as I replay the vision in my head.
