University was finally over, you were ready to set sail across the globe, chasing dreams of adventure and exploration.
The skies and seas were begging to feel your presence as you experienced every culture and every corner of the earth.
That was now a long lost desire.
You were living in a flat just off the edge of London with your best friend Anna and some mutual friends.
One friend in particular took up a place of deep rooted anger in your heart.
Your roommate,
Jeong Yunho.
He was the creme de la creme of wattpad fanfiction boys, a jock and a proper roudy lads lad only to one day be changed by a sweet nerdy girl.
You tolerated it.
Until you first saw him alone.
He wasn't like that at all, he was sweet and considerate and he had the kindest of hearts.
It was this act of his the bothered you, the toxistity of who he pretended to be.
You didn't speak to him at all for the first few days, trying your best to avoid him.
You were always asleep before he came to bed and awake before he was.
It worked, until the insomnia started.
You missed home.
Your parents had moved to Greece a few weeks ago as a retirement retreat.
You were too poor and to visit and they wanted you to "try life out on your own".
Conceptually, it was a great idea you'd get some time alone to figure out who you were and well, they'd get a nice extended holiday.
But in reality, it was hard not being able to see them.
You missed the comfort of knowing they were always in the next room.
And so, you couldn't sleep.
Your eyes refused to close.
Your head was blank, empty.
You were a zombie chained down by your own struggles.
And then entered the roommate, sauntering in after a long day of... pretending? You could only assume.
He climbed into his bed and fell asleep.
That's all, it's that fucking easy.
The hours rolled by one tick to the next.
4am.
Your brain was now ticking along, counting the seconds as they passed.
You hoped that eventually you'd get bored and fall asleep that way, instead you became thirsty.
The kitchen was just down the corridor and if you were quiet enough, you could make it.
You weren't traveling the world just yet but a trip to the kitchen with 5 other people sleeping close by, who would kill you if you woke them felt like enough of an adventure for now.
