"I need to get working on my personal statement." Harry announced as they lounged on Louis' bed that Saturday evening. The school week had really dreaded on and Harry was just starting to relax when he realised he had to get working again. It's like you can't have a break with education.

"What?" Louis questioned, looking up confused.

"I need to start working on my personal statement." Harry repeated slowly, holding eye contact with Louis.

"Yeah I heard you, but that was really random." He had a point, they had just been lounging around, laughing at videos on instagram and laughing. No mention of school or work. Then again, Harry always said random shit so it wasn't really surprising.

"It just hit me. Now that our predicted grades are out, we actually have to start applying." Harry shrugged.

"We?" Louis replied, narrowing his eyes at Harry.

"Yes we, aren't you going to apply to uni?" Harry questioned, both of them obviously on different pages.

"Obviously. I've been scouted by a couple of universities. Some of which offered me full rides if I continue getting these grades." Louis shrugged, as if it were nothing.

"Louis that's really good!" Harry replied, smile building in his face. Louis was really good at football, Harry was really happy Louis was getting the recognition he deserved.

"It's meh, I can't fuck around with these grades." Harry knew Louis was proud of getting scouted but he was too humble to admit it. That's why he liked Louis, Louis is always really cocky but when it comes to what he's really good at, like football, he's very humble about it, always saying 'he's not that great' or 'he's okay' when everyone knows he's the best player on the team.

"So, which are your top unis?" The question was really casual but for some reason, Harry's heart started to pick up pace. He was afraid of the answer. He didn't want to hear something that would upset him.

"I'm looking into Bath, Manchester and Cardiff." Harry nodded, taking in what Louis had said.

That's when it hit him. They were probably going to end up so far from each other. Harry was looking more into central London; UCL, King's. He considered the other's of course but those had always been his top. Who even knew if they'd still be into each other by then. But Harry didn't even want to live on that thought. He wanted to end up where Louis was ending up. But this was their future, they couldn't just fuck around with it.

"What about you?" Louis asked, obviously reaching the same page Harry was on now. They both held awkward eye contact, trying to communicate with their eyes more than their words. It was pretty pathetic on both their behalves.

"The five I'm going to apply to are UCL, King's, Westminster, Manchester and either university of Lancaster or Bath." He didn't say Bath and Manchester just because Louis had said them, he was originally planning on applying anyway but he always knew that if he got into King's or UCL, he wouldn't go to the others. They were his 'safe' universities. The plan b's. Harry liked big cities. He wanted to continue living in London. He didn't want to move to Manchester or Lancaster. He wasn't one of those people who enjoyed the quieter areas.

Louis slowly nodded, as if he could hear Harry's thoughts. "There are a couple more matches coming up, I'm hoping to get scouted by more universities in London..." Louis trailed off, latching onto the avoided topic. Harry wanted to tell Louis to look into universities in London, so they could end up near each other but they weren't even exclusive yet, he couldn't just ask him to do that. That's what was even more annoying. The fact that they weren't even official.
