it was now tuesday. 5:30. brooklyn was patiently waiting at the place they had agreed on meeting up at. it had, oddly, and absentmindedly became their meet-up place, max skating around there, hoping to run into brooklyn, brooklyn wandering around there, hoping to run into max. most of the time, they did.

soon enough, max arrived. max goofily waved when she saw brooklyn, who was wearing a sweater and shorts. brooklyn giggled at the sight, before waving back, just as enthusiastic. max was wearing a striped t-shirt tucked into jean shorts, with a backpack.

"what do you wanna do?" brooklyn looks up at her when she reaches her.

"i was thinking we could go for a hike," max sits down beside her on the curb. "oh, fun. hikes." brooklyn replies awkwardly. "your weird," max giggles at her odd comment.

(i removed some stuff from here so time skip! :D)

"max, where are we going?" brooklyn asks, sweating and out of breath. they were in the middle of a field, several hills surrounding them. max spins around, both hands gripping onto the straps of her backpack. she shrugs.

"you dont know?" brooklyn asks, her eyes widening.

"chill out," max rolls her eyes, turning back around and continuing walking. "we're in the middle of nowhere! we're gonna die out here. how are we gonna find our way back?" brooklyn rambles from behind max.

"we'll leave breadcrumbs or some shit," max smirks, turning her head.

"its too late for breadcrumbs!" brooklyn facepalms.

"gosh, your such a nerd." max scoffs.

"your taking me out here to murder me, arent you?" brooklyn jokes. hopefully.

"mhm," the redhead hums. "i will if you dont stop complaining,"

"oh my god, is that a threat? are you threatening me?"

"yeah, for sure," max turns around, and starts walking backwards, grinning.

"dont give me any ideas," max points at her, raising her eyebrows.

brooklyn just sighs, rolling her eyes. they manage to walk for a few quick seconds in silence. before brooklyn breaks it, again. "how much longerr?" she groans, throwing her head back. "we're almost there," max answered.

and she wasnt lying.

"we're here," she announced, only a few moments after.

"eugh, finally. only took us 6 hours."

"that was not even one."

"felt like 6 hours," brooklyn replies flatly, wiping sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand.

"your ridiculous."

"yeah, uh, we've established that. now, maybe, you could tell me why you dragged me out here?"

"to murder you, duh," max says, sliding her backpack off her shoulders and unziping it.

she searched through the bag. "there," max pulls out a blue blanket and lays in on the ground.

she sits down on the blanket. brooklyn just stands there. until max turns her head. "are you coming?" she pats the empty spot next to her. "oh." brooklyn awkwardly sits beside her.

"its kinda nice up here, huh?"

"yeah," brooklyn agrees quietly. "its, uh, a good view from up here," max says absentmindely. shes not looking at the view. shes looking at brooklyn.

"yeah," brooklyn repeats. "thanks for taking me here. uh, really.. cool." brooklyn says, slightly awkwardly. she wasnt being sarcastic. she just wasn't sure how to word it. "yeah." max smiles, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"i have more to show you, though. come on,"

"we just sat downn,"
