brooklyn stared at the red-haired girl intently. she watched her hair blow in the wind, and noticed the way her feet easily shifted on the board. she wasnt sure why she was so.. interested with her. but she was.

the redhead looks up from her feet, noticing a random girl watching her, and is so startled, the board slips out from underneath her feet. she falls onto the ground, roughly scraping her elbow on the cement- mumbling a 'fuck' to herself.

this snapped brooklyn out of her daydream."fuck!" brooklyn said, accidentally outloud, scrambling to help the injured redhead. "im so- so sorry! i didnt mean to scare you!" she kneels down, hovering over the girl- who was just lying there, her knee raised.

the girl doesnt reply, and only gazes up at her- her expression flat, other than her eyebrows, that were almost raised to her forehead, almost looking.. dazed.

"oh no. did i break you? are you okay?" brooklyn asks quickly, panicking. she had sparkling blue eyes, that almost pulled you in- and her nose & cheeks were scattered beautifully with freckles.

the girl suddenly jumped out of her dream, and started snickering, her nose scrunching up- before shaking her head. "break me?" the girl repeats between snickers. "i-i thought maybe you hit your head, or something- i-" she clamps her mouth shut, not wanting to say anything stupid.

"yeah, sorry. that was stupid." she admits, sitting up slightly, her face red as she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. the freckled girl lets out a final giggle, propping herself up on her elbows. "not stupid. it was kind of cute," she says with a lopsided smile.

brooklyns face reddens, but she smiles back. her eyes drop to the girls elbow and she realizes its bleeding, her smile quickly vanishing. "y-your elbow. your bleeding," she points out with a frown.

"oh." she breathes in response. the redhead raises her arm, trying to look at her elbow.

"im-- im really sorry." she realizes she still hasn't introduced herself. "im brooklyn," she adds just after. the girl blinks, looking from her elbow to brooklyn. "im maxine. just call me max, though. and, its fine,"

brooklyn stands up, and extends her hand- offering to help max up. max accepts and takes her hand. (hey give it back thats my good hand!)

"it doesnt look fine." brooklyn says. "im okay." max rolls her eyes with a sweet and meaningful smile. she turns around and kicks up her board- then grabs it, while brooklyn watches in amazement, though she hasn't done anything that great.

"here, uh, i can help you." brooklyn then says, walking off- and dragging max along, since she hadn't dropped her hand yet.

"uhm, where are we going?" max asks, jumping to catch up with her- her skateboard tucked underneath her arm. brooklyn looks down at her hands, and then remembers to respond. "right. to my house. i can, uh, get you some bandages, or something," she answers, her voice trailing off.

"i just moved here," she adds, pointlessly.

"oh. thats why i havent seen you." max says, biting her bottom lip.

"do you like it here?" max asks after a moment of silence.

"no." she blurts quickly.

"i mean- its okay. i just dont really know.. anyone," she adds, just after, hoping she hadnt offended her. max sniggered. "i didnt like it when i first moved here, either." she admits in an attempt to comfort the other girl.

"oh?" brooklyn's eyebrows raise.

"yeah. then i met my friends, and stuff," she says. "they're annoying as hell, but i still like them," she mumbles the last part, and brooklyn giggled at this.

they spent the rest of the fairly short walk to brooklyn's house talking about random stuff- max saying whatever she thought would make brooklyn laugh.
