Rosalind Lin was not evil. She knew that, she was determined to believe it, and she was determined to stay that way for the rest of her life.
But it was hard.
It was hard having the most awful wizard of all time, the most terrifying, as your father. Especially if you had to keep it a secret.
Rosalind stared out of the window of her compartment on the Hogwarts Express, which she shared with her friends, most from Gryffindor. She was thinking about the task at hand and how it might impact her fellow classmates, and most of all, the Marauders.
"You okay, Rose?" a red-haired girl with brilliant green eyes asked, concerned.
"Oh yeah, Lily, I was just thinking about, you know, returning to Hogwarts and stuff..." Rosalind lied smoothly. It came naturally to her.
"You look a little. . . off." a brunette with bright highlights stated.
"Marlene, I'm fine, really."
"So your mum's been treating you okay? After what happened with your dad?" Marlene skeptically raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, pretty much." Rosalind muttered under her breath. "Not."
She had lied to her friends about her family, as she didn't want students fleeing from the sight of the daughter of Voldemort, nor did she want to be perceived as a sad, lonely orphan. She was independent, and hated relying on others.
"Sorry what?" Lily, luckily, had not heard what Rosalind had said.
"Oh, it's nothing." Rosalind waved Lily's concerned eyes away with a flick of her hand. She smiled and asked, "So who are we pranking this year?"
The entire group broke into smiles. They loved pulling pranks, and had started in their second year. They managed to put even the Prewett twins out of business, as their pranks were always so elaborate and unexpected. Their biggest rivals were the four most popular boys of Hogwarts-the Marauders.
"Good question. Umm. . . how about Bellatrix Black? She seemed to be harassing a child back on the platform." A girl with brown hair, Dorcas whispered enthusiastically.
Rosalind nodded, "Good idea. We could use that as our second prank. However, today, I think we should prank the masters. The legendaries of pranking."
"The Marauders." the five of them finished together, smiling.
"Okay. I'm like, really confused now." a rather short girl with dark hair and beautiful olive skin was standing in the doorway. "Coincidentally, the reason I got here a little late was because of the Marauders you speak of now."
A collective amount of "Hey, Michelle." rang throughout the compartment.
Marlene gasped, scandalized. "What'd they do?" she asked.
Dorcas leaned forward, eager for gossip.
"Oh nothing, being the bunch of idiot's they are." the girls all snicked.
"But, Lily, I've gotta say, Potter's got the hots for you. Like really bad. It's not just a crush. It's major." Michelle smiled. "Just think-Lily Potter. Sounds about right." Michelle squealed when Lily both angrily and playfully jumped at her.
"You have no idea what you're saying, Cooper." Lily glowered.
"Or do I?" Michelle shrugged simply.
"Blimey I should call you Potter instead of Evans now, Lily. It sounds perfect!" Rosalind joked.
"Rose..." Lily began threatening, aiming her mini pillow at Rosalind. Rosalind giggled, but still cowered and leaned back.
