Rosalind was pretty. No, she was beautiful. This made Sirius' mission easier. You see, after getting pumpkin juice poured all over him, he decided that Rosalind needed to be taught a lesson. And his plan was simple.

He would prank her and her friends as revenge for turning them into rats, but he would also make Rosalind the specific target of another prank. His second prank was to steal her heart and never return it. He would make her fall in love and never drag her out of it. He would break the heart he stole, and leave her just like he left all the other girls. Helpless. Which was why having a beautiful target made it easier for him. He found himself practically unable to flirt with ugly girls.

When he told the Marauders what he planned to do, he got mixed reactions.

James, on one hand was way too happy about it. Abnormally happy. Usually, James would say, "Prongs, don't waste your time of this sh*t," but for some reason, today he was not.

Peter was all for it. Then again, he probably just didn't want to argue so that they could get to breakfast early.

Remus just shook his head. "Sirius, this is gonna get a lot more complicated than you think. Don't mind when I say 'I told you so'."

When they arrived in the Great Hall and started eating, Sirius confidently made a beeline for Rosalind.

"Rosie!" he called out graciously, squeezing in next to her.

"What, Black?" she spat irritably.

Rosalind made a disbelieving scoff. On her right, Marlene, who had been staring at Sirius just a moment before with awe now looked at Rosalind with an accusing look on her face. Dorcas brightened up immediately, no doubt excited to spread the word. Lily looked shock, as did Mary. The other Marauders just ate their food, trying to avoid each others' gaze.

"Why?" Rosalind squinted at Sirius.

"Because I like you." he had said this infinite times already, and knew how to say it in a tone that made girls want  him.

"Well, that wouldn't be fair to you, Black, because I don't like you. And I know a liar when I see one. So spill. Why d'you want to go to Hogsmeade with me?"

Sirius became a little antsy. No one had ever rejected him before.

"Come on, Rosie." he leaned closer to her putting an arm around her waist.

"Ew Black. Get your hands off me." Rosalind tried to wriggle out of Sirius' grasp. The three other Marauders were guffawing now, and Sirius sent them glares.

Sirius did not loosen his grip on Rosalind.

"Black." Rosalind's tone became more threatening and serious, deeper than before.

His hand remained where it was. Sirius grinned teasingly.

"Black, get your hand off me this instant!" She looked him in the eyes angrily.

He almost took his hand back. But he didn't. Instead, his stubborn self allowed his hand to rest comfortably where it was.

"Black, I'm going to give you one last chance." Rosalind's voice was breathier and even deeper now.

It flinched, but stayed there.

Rosalind gently put her hand on his, and muttered something. Sirius looked victorious for a moment before-
