Two days later, Rosalia sat calmly in her seat in History. She was trying her best to maintain a silly converaation with Luna and her other friend Keisha who was a recent transfer from Oakland.
"And I'm all like, "boy bye, you don't even got a whip. Broke ass," Keisha laughed as she told her friends about an instance she had with an older guy.
"Do not let these San Diego guys take advantage of you, girl, you are a bad bitch. Do you hear me?" Luna stated confidently.
"You're so right," she shook her head and crossed her arms.
"I mean, unless his dick is big," Rosalia tilted her head, biting her lip, "but that is the only exception. Also, make it seem like you're using him, not the other way around," she pointed.
"You give such good advice, Rosalia," Keisha smiled.
That was such a lie.
"I mean, obviously. How do you think I have new boyfriends all the time? And who do you think dumps who?" She chuckled and so did the rest of the group.
Although, lately her mindset on that had been changing. Perhaps she did spend too much time with many different guys and never took the time to settle on one. For now at least.
But, Mathew? She highly doubted he was that type. Then again, he called her his girlfriend and held her hand in the hallway and everything so it was obviously official, but not in the sense she wanted it to be.
He still didn't take her to that ice cream place.
"Alright, I'm passing out your quizzes so quiet down your voices so I can read the names better," Ms. Mij said loudly, confusing the entire class.
"You need us to be quiet so you can read better?" A random student asked.
"Mhm," Ms. Mij nodded in a way that made it seem like she was paying attention— but really wasn't— as she began passing around papers.
The class continued their conversations more quietly, going back to whatever it was they were talking about.
As they did that, Rosalia zoned out of the conversation with Luna and Keisha once again. They were still talking about boys but for once, she didn't want to talk about that. There had to be more to talk about nowadays than just boys.
"Here's your test," She heard Ms. Mij say from beside her. She looked up, grabbing her paper from Ms. Mij who smiled slightly, "good effort."
Expecting a C, Rosalia had actually gotten a D. But, it was a high D which was totally okay for her. It meant she was improving.
She smiled and scanned the quiz seeing how close her answers were to the correct ones. She messed up on abstract ideas that weren't connecting but at least she memorized important dates and events. This grade was realistic especially because she never even studied on her own after her sessions with Harry.
