✾✾✾ Rosalia ✾✾✾
The sun never stopped shining. It was 3am.
Rosalia couldn't sleep. Obviously.
A smile formed on her lips every time she reminisced what had just happened. It was as if the thought would never leave her memory and her mind was currently an everlasting shield, yielding any unfortunate thoughts. She wondered what it was like to feel sad for a moment and it made her realize that her demeanor had been pretty sad all along.
She wasn't experiencing happiness the way that she was now.
Her alarm for school went off soon enough and it was exactly then that Rosalia realized she didn't get a lick of sleep. This wasn't out of the ordinary because she actually hadn't been getting sleep anyway.
However, today was a.. good excuse to avoiding slumber. In fact, it was also an amazing day to be happy. Did she say that already? She did.
As she got ready for school, she felt herself take a deep inhale and then exhale, flattening out her long skirt. There was something about long skirts that she'd been admiring lately. Not just because they were super comfortable, but they reminded her of her grandmother back in El Salvador. Women wore these kinds of skirts all the time, coupled with a nice blouse. In her case it was an off the shoulder red one, but it complemented the floral red and black flowy skirt.
After using an iron to make her hair wavy, she grabbed her bag from the rack behind her door before greeting her mom in the kitchen. Estella was already preparing breakfast for her father who would be home at any minute from a long night at the factory.
"Hola mamá," she gave her mom a peck on the cheek as she began playing her food.
Her mother greeted her with a smile and good morning before turning in to her daily "noticias" (news).
When Rosalia got to the table, Armando was already eating what was probably his second plate of huevos y frijoles (Eggs and beans).
"Good morning," Rosalia chirped happily as she sat down.
"What's got you all happy?" He scoffed and gripped a tortilla in his hand before tearing off a piece to pick up some frijoles.
"Oh, nothing," she shrugged, pouring herself some orange juice from the pitcher.
"Liar," he scrunched his brows.
Deep down, Armando knew what she was smiling about. Of course, he wouldn't bring it up because he didn't want to ruin her happiness with embarrassment since he knew she'd get that way. Plus, he loved seeing her so happy. What he loved even more was knowing where that happiness originated.
"I'm gonna be late for school!" Rosalia practically shouted when she looked down at her phone.
She immediately sat up in her seat, gripping her book bag in her already sweaty palms and tossed it over her shoulders before gulping down the rest of her orange juice and eating very little of what was on her plate.
"You didn't even eat..." Armando pointed out but she was already out of the door.

She'd gotten to school 45 minutes early. Harry didn't show up.
Well, she was assuming he didn't because they usually saw each other during passing period at around 10am everyday. It was disappointing to say the least- and this actually hurt Rosalia's feelings more than she had thought. In actuality, she didn't think that he'd go as far as missing school... to avoid her? If that's what he was doing.
