Chapter 20

Archie's POV

I was in class wondering where Jaylynn was this morning and where was Jughead. He isnt here either and he could told me why his sister isnt here. Just then my phone went off with a bunch of messages. I went to get my phone out, but the teacher took it and said I could have it after class. My phone was still going off and after class so many messages and calls from Jughead, my mom, and Jaylynn.

"Archie, come on!" Betty says and pulls me out of the school.

"Woah. Betty whats going on?" I ask.

"If you would of answered your messages or calls you would of known that Jaylynn is having your baby." She says.

"What? Oh my god." I say.

We got into my truck and headed to the hospital.

"This car isnt suitable for a baby. You know that right. Also Jaylynn has a motorcycle also not for a baby." She says.

"Yeah I know. Thats why Gladys said she would be giving us her car once they baby was born." I say.

"Well Archie, your son is coming into this world today. How does that feel?" She asks.

"Scary, but also exciting. Oh no." I say.

"What?" She questions.

"What if I ruin my son's life." I say.

"Archie you'll be a great father." She says.

"Also you shouldnt of come you have school." I say.

"Veronica is filling in for me. Look dont worry. Oh and Arch." She says.

"Yeah?" I question.

"We're here." She says.

I parked the truck and we got out so I rushed in and my mom met me and hugged me.

"Thank god your here. Jaylynn is fine and the baby is doing good as well. Now come on I'll take you to them." My mom says.

I followed her and got to the room where Jughead was outside.

"Jaylynn is mad at you, but go on in." Jughead says.

I went in and when I did Gladys and FP both rushed out. Something about Jaylynn being mad.

"YOU!" Jaylynn yells.

"Hey sorry my phone got taken away during class, but Im here now." I say.

I went to take her hand, but she smacked my hand away.

"I dont care if your late. Im mad because Im in pain and its all your fault!" She yells.

I wanted to back away from her, but Im sure that would just make it worse. Then out of nowhere she was nice and calm after getting an epidural.

"So we are almost there. 8 centimeters your doing good as is your baby. I'll be back in an hour to check on you." The doctor says before leaving.

After he was gone everyone else came back in and even our friends have shown up.

"Okay I called the school and they will let Jaylynn finish Junior year online. Sorry Archie they will excuse you for this week, but Weatherbee wants you back in class next Monday." Gladys says.

"Okay, but how will she be taking care of the baby on her own." I say.

"Why am I useless or something?" Jaylynn asks.

"No.. I didnt.. I wouldnt.." I say.

"Archie stop talking. You'll help during the night and before and after school. So during the day I'll help her." Gladys says.
