[3] ~Grey & Evnenur

"What do you hope to achieve from this certain venture?" Evnenur spoke from behind me. I slightly turned to her and gave her a smile.

"A new perspective" she smiled and I stuck my hand out for her to grab. She gratefully took it and I helped her climb the rocks ahead of us.

"Wouldn't it be faster if I flew us somewhere?"

"No, that would ruin the fun and the adventure of doing it the hard way" she gave me a weak smile and she gave me a slight squeeze of her hand.

"You and your silly adventures Grey" she shook her head.

"Isn't that what you love about me?" She looked down hoping to cover the blush that appeared on her face.

"We'll stop and rest here for the night, start setting up the tent and I'll go find some fire wood" Evnenur nodded and began unpacking or bags. I trailed off into the forest looking for firewood, but also something that we could eat for the night. Evnenur is quiet solid she was hungry or tired she wouldn't tell me, so I needed to at least find something to give her and myself.

"I found some berries, and there not poisonous so we should be okay to eat them, I'll set the fire" she nodded again and sat down at a nearby log and watched as I fiddled with the flame, hoping that it would catch the wood.

"Would you like my help?" I turned to see Evnenur standing over my shoulder watching me.

"I think I got it" and just like that the flame caught and the sheer darkness fell under the flame. She took in a deep breath and watched the flames dance. I watched as the shadows highlighted her smooth features, they showed no mercy under the flame.

"These are good berries, perhaps a raspberry or blackberry blend" she examined the berries every time she picked one up before she placed it in her mouth. It was insanely stupid to fall for Evnenur, everyone who has never lived to tell the tale, mainly because she was a dragon and she didn't socialize well with humans. But she always caught the attention of the crowd wherever we went, wherever I went with her I felt like a king protecting his queen. Her beauty outshines anyone I've ever met, perhaps the reason I've fallen for her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I looked at her and her eyebrows were knitted together. Dammit I was caught, play it off.

"Oh nothing, just sort of got lost in thought, sorry Evnenur" she looked like she didn't buy it before she looked away and stared again at the fire.

"I'm gonna head off to bed, I'll see you in the morning" she stood up and I mirrored her movements closing the gap and grabbing her hand. She looked down at my hand and then at my face in question.

"Sorry did you need something before I go off to sleep?" She turned to me and I stared intently into her eyes.

"Well, yes actually" her mouth formed an o and then she smiled.

"What can I help you with?" I swallowed hard and closed my eyes breathing out and looking at her.

"Can you close your eyes?" She raised an eyebrow before she nodded slowly and closed her eyes. I brought one of my hands gently to her face and she winced a little bit. I stepped closer and leaned forward. I gently pulled her towards me and closed my lips onto hers. At first she didn't react until I felt hers move against mine. I moved away and her eyes opened.

"I-" she raised a hand to her lips and looked away hiding another blush.

"I hope I didn't make you feel awkward, but I really care about you Evnenur, and I want to be by your side" she looked up at me in shock before she placed a hand on my cheek.
