i wasn't even looking when i found you.

chapter 1

a blonde boy with striking blue eyes sits in an airport, at terminal 17, texting his best friend.

chase💗: hey i miss u <33 have u landed yet??

noen🌸✨: i miss u more :( just landed & waiting for benji n jeyjey!!!

chase💗: okay have fun bubba <3 i love u

noen🌸✨: hehe i will <3 i love u too

"noen?" a deep voice called, making the blonde haired boy snap his head up from his phone as heat rose to his face, giving him a pink blush to match his nails. noen's palms started to sweat, his eyes darting between the floor and the two boys in front of him. what should he say? he awkwardly toed at the ground, his same old brown shoes creating a squeaking noise when connecting with the floor.

before he had the chance to mumble a simple 'hi', he felt the weight of a body tackle him to the ground, his body flopping down easily.

"noen!" benji yelled, grinning as the blonde boy groaned, grunting as he sat up, rubbing his head. "hi to you too, benji." he said with an eye roll, watching as the taller boy cackled.

benji held out his hand to help the shorter of the two up, looking back at his boyfriend, who was completely uninterested in the entire situation. if we're being completely honest, he didn't even want to be there. benji raised his eyebrow at jorge, who internally groaned, but attempted a smile which looked more like a grimace. noen just gave a half hearted smile, not completely sure if jeyjey even liked him.

"oh my god! hi! your eyes are so much more intricate in person! wow, they're so blue," the taller of the two shouted, making noen flinch in surprise. he stared at the blonde boy, watching as noen shuffled around awkwardly, not sure what to say.

"thanks," the blonde said, a shy smile playing at his lips as he blushed and stared at the ground, making benji giggle loudly.

"you're so adorable! you're so shy in person!" he stopped to chuckle, shaking his head. "c'mon, you gotta meet jorge!" benji yelled, pulling noen's cold and boney hand before the boy even had a chance to blink.

the two boys stopped in front of a shorter spaniard boy, who kind of resembled evan peters in a weird way. jorge, or better known as jeyjey, stood with a small scowl on his face, looking noen up and down before staring at the two boys still holding hands. benji rolled his eyes and let noen's hand go, watching as jorge smiled graciously.

"hi. i'm jorge." he said dryly, his thick accent peeking through his words. noen curled his lips into a smile that seemed all too fake to even be considered as genuine. "noen," the blonde said softly, the ground suddenly becoming more interesting than the conversation itself.

benji seemed to catch onto the slight tension, and put his hands around both boys' shoulders. "c'mon boys! we've got a lot to do today!" he said with a grin, pulling them along side him, the three of them walking in unison out of the airport.

after a twenty minute car ride, with benji almost crashing about eleven times and making noen almost shit himself. jeyjey seemed used to it, seeing as all he did was stare out of the window, too lost in his own thoughts to pay attention to either boy.

the three boys walked into jorge's house, setting noen's bags down as they all sat on the couch, seemingly already tired of the day that had barely started. noen thought of texting chase, and just as he was about to do so, he was interrupted by benji's screaming.

"alright, enough lounging around! it's time to go out!" he exclaimed, watching as noen's face fell. its not that he didn't want to go out. it's that he just wanted to relax for a minute. he missed his best friend, and this was a new environment, so he was a bit stressed.

he allowed himself to be pulled away from the comfortable couch by benji, which seems to have been the third time today already. after fifteen minutes, noen found himself in a small grassy field, the sun shining down on his pale skin.

the three boys all lay down in the grass, noen softly touching the many leaves on plants by his sides. he graciously smiled as he finally felt comfortable for the first time today, and found him self actually laughing at a couple of benji's jokes. he even managed to make jeyjey crack a smile.

and as he found himself gradually getting more and more comfortable around the two boys, noen let his mind drift away from chase and california.
