The room was big, bigger than her bedroom at home. Everything looked more expensive than her entire house, yet Clary didn't admire it as she normally would anything else. She was too busy gaping at the raven haired beauty before her.
Izzy wasn't looking at the 'mundane' Jace had discovered. She'd struck up a one sided conversation with the girl in an effort to distract her from the overload her brain must be going through.
If she were anyone else, Izzy would have left her to get her memory wiped and booted her out the door, but Jace wasn't the only one intrigued by Clary. It was rare for a human to see through their glamour, but it was impossible for one to pick up a seraph blade and not to dropping from the searing heat it projected to all mundanes.
The red haired girl girl hadn't noticed that the woman in front of her had stopped talking. A smirk was present on Izzy's face, Clary had been caught.
The girl stumbled over her words; she was never known to be shy, yet with this beautiful creature looking her dead in the eye, all words seemed to fail her. "So, what about you has Jace so confused then?"
Clary chuckled nervously. "I'm not sure."
"Well, looks wise? I can definitely see what's got him so worked up."
Clary's face flushed red, she never really knew how to handle compliments; she'd usually freeze up, exactly like she was doing now.
Izzy however, she was enjoying this immensely. She could very see the blush crawling up the girls neck and over her face, she knew exactly what she was doing.
"So, uh. You and Jace? Are you like-" She trailed off. Clary wanted to facepalm at her awkward statement, she was only trying to break the silence yet she felt she only made it worse.
If Izzy felt awkward at the question, she certainly didn't show it. She chuckled, "You wanna know if Jace and I are a thing?"
Not for the reasons you think. Clary thought.
"No. He's like my brother, so Jace is single for the taking." She winked at the red-head before standing and striding around the room, looking at various objects lining the shelves. Clary glaced at the way Izzy moved about the room, she was full of confidence and Clary couldn't help but feel in awe of her. From what she'd seen the night before she was amazing with a weapon and she was incredibly smart. Not to mention she was also drop-dead gorgeous.
"And that means you are too, right?" Clary was shocked at the words that came out of her mouth. She'd never been so forward before, or ever really.
Izzy placed down the random book she'd found and turned to look at the younger girl with a smirk on her face. "Someone's cracked out of her shell pretty easily." She teased.
Clary went silent once more, the shred of confidence she'd just had leaving her instantly. Izzy flicked her hair over her shoulder and turned to the door as it opened revealing Alec and Jace. The blonde instantly went to Clary's side to check on her. Izzy struck up a conversation with her brother, the Lightwood duo looping arms and heading to the door.
When the two left the room, Izzy turned before shutting the door and said with a wink, "And to answer your question Clary, I am."
The door shut with a thud and Clary was left with Jace. The man turned to Clary with a confused expression on his face. "What was that about?"
Clary didn't answer but shook her head. Blush rose in her cheeks for what felt like the hundredth time in the past ten minutes. If Jace noticed it, he didn't mention it.
So as the conversation went on, Jace began to explain the shadow world and everything demons but Clary couldn't find it in her to pay attention. She'd nod and look interested but behind her eyes was the constant repeat of Izzy, all the words she'd said to make Clary blush and her bold statement before closing the door.
If Isabelle Lightwood was always going to be around, then Clary was definitely going to love it here.
