Thor watched, drink in hand as several unknown people swarmed around Bruce. The scientist was known for his lack of social skills yet surrounded by all those people, it would appear that he was perfectly content in the company.

But Thor knew better. He could see the glint of hesitation in his eyes and despite the distance between them he could almost hear his awkward laugh die out.

Tony had decided very last minute to throw an extravagant party. The man was known for such a thing but Thor couldn't help curse the billionaire for his party animal nature. Thor loved a party as much as the next person, but that was when Bruce wasn't being surrounded by people he very clearly didn't want to be around.

Thor was standing too far away from the group for them to see his glare, but that didn't stop him from showing them just how he felt without saying a thing.

He was usually a very calm man when it came to people, he would rather talk things out than resulting to a fight with possible casualties. But as he watched the gaggle of strangers box Bruce in, he was itching to hit them.

The man of the hour distracted Thor from his silent loathing. With the amount of alcohol he had consumed that evening, Tony had to have been far past drunk at that point. But despite the fact he should have been slurring his words and falling over his own feet, he was perfectly composed.

He'd yet to stop moving around the crowd and mingling with every guest in the room, it was a quick 'hi and bye' before he moved on.

"Hey Thor, left some of your Asgardian booze behind the bar, left it here last party." The man barely stopped to breathe and Thor found it a miracle that he seemed to jump onto the next sentence without pausing. "Oh and go and save Bruce please. Those people are leeches."

Tony didn't wait for an answer before floating off in the direction of Pepper.

Thor didn't hesitate to consider what he may do to these 'leeches', he just simply walked over with a face like thunder.

A few of the 'groupies' noticed the God of Thunder approaching and paled ever so slightly but none made a move to leave. Bruce, as predicted, was laughing awkwardly at something previously said. He tensed up at the feeling of arms wrapping possessively around his shoulder but instantly relaxed when he recognised it as Thor's embrace.

The scientist was beyond relieved that his husband had come to save him from the relentless chattering of the people around him. Many times had he tried to escape the conversation with a range of excuses; each and every time, someone would start up talking and the window for Bruce's escape would close.

Bruce didn't hear Thor's excuse to the rest of the group. He did however, feel the god grip onto his wrist and whisk him away from the stunned group behind them.

Bruce sighed in relief, he felt like he could finally breathe. "Thank you."

Thor didn't reply. He only hummed in acknowledgement and buried his nose into Bruce's hair.

For the rest of the night the couple huddled away in a corner, not willing to socialise with anyone but each other. Any attempt a person made was either made by Thor's slightly annoyed glare or Bruce's anxious expression.

It's safe to say they didn't attended many parties after that.
