[Jade]

She decided to kiss him back.

At first, she felt awkward since she didn't know what she was doing, but when Tony put one hand on her waist she started to melt into it.

Her hands went around his neck, just like when they had danced, as his other hand also went down to her hip.

The kiss was slow and quite sweet, but there was an urgent undertone to it since they didn't have much time before going after Loki.

Tony pulled away with a small smile on his face as Jade looked away in slight embarrassment. She knew she liked Tony as a friend and that he liked her, but she had never imagined that their friendship would one day come to this.

She cleared her throat, putting down her arms and pulling away from Tony's embrace. She could see his smile slightly falter when she took another step back to put more distance between them.

"I'm going to catch up with Steve so I can tag along to save the world," Jade said awkwardly before turning around and walking out of the room, not looking back at Tony.

"What took you so long?" Natasha asked as she entered the ship.

"Just got a bit distracted on my way here," she said.

Jade felt her cheeks become warmer without her consent, something that didn't go unnoticed by the assassin.

They started flying away from the helicarrier as they could see Tony pass them in his suit.

"I guess Distraction will arrive there before us," Natasha said with a smirk on her face as Clint laughed, even making Steve smile.

"I haven't said anything!" Jade said as she became slightly frustrated and irritated.

"You didn't have to, but you just confirmed it anyway," Natasha said as Jade shook her head and glared at Clint who was still laughing.

"Unbelievable," Jade muttered to herself.

Things weren't pretty in New York when they arrived since the Tesseract had opened the portal, making the aliens pour out from the sky.

"Attention! Today's weather will be quite sunny with a big chance of aliens falling from the sky to attack! Have a nice day," Jade said and even though she knew it wasn't the right time tom make jokes, it somewhat helped with her nervousness.

They came closer to the Stark tower as they continued to shoot the aliens, everything was going fine until Loki spotted them and shot a blast with his scepter.

The plane started falling down, making Steve hold on to the ceiling while Jade went crashing into the wall while a noise of pain escaped her mouth. Though soon enough, the plane hit the ground and almost taking town a few civilians with it.

"Not a good landing. Especially not with motion sickness," Jade groaned, holding a hand to her left ribs while being on all for on the ground while Steve, Clint and Natasha ran out of the ship.

"I'm not going to be left behind where I can get blown up," she said as she pushed herself from the ground and started walking out to the others who were looking up at the sky.

Jade also looked up to see a big monster flying through, destroying everything in its path and sending out smaller alien soldiers on the buildings.

"What the hell is that?" Jade asked in shock. "This is not what I signed up for."

The four of them took cover behind a car to avoid the blasts and explosions caused by the aliens. But the aliens started shooting from them were they weren't covered, making Natasha stand up to shoot them while Jade crouched down to get more cover.

"We got this. It's good. Go!" Natasha told Steve.

"You think you can hold them off?"

"Captain, it would be my genuine pleasure," Clint said before he stood up to shoot an arrow, taking down several of the Chitauri.

Natasha stood up again to shoot them while Jade stayed down, imagining herself transforming into a lion so that she could help. But she opened her eyes when nothing happened and she could feel the fear go through her.

"Natasha? I think we have a problem!"

"I think there's already a problem here!" Natasha shouted back as she killed another Chitauri.

"I can't transform!" Jade shouted as she moved further down to get more cover.

Natasha looked towards her with pity before looking at Clint to make sure he covered for them.

"I got this," He said with a nod.

Jade tried again to transform with no luck as Natasha crouched down beside her and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, look at me," she started. "Deep breaths. Tell me what's wrong."

"Well, to start off: my powers are not working, I'm terrified out of my mind because of aliens coming from a hole in the sky and I know I'm one of the few people who can stop all of these people from dying."

"Okay, Jade. I know things don't seem too good right now, but think about that last thing you said. We can help these people, but you'll have to let go of your fear to do that," Natasha told her, putting her other hand on Jade's shoulder. "Can you do that for me? Can you make your powers work again to save the world?"

Jade took a few deep breaths before nodding as a tear went down her cheek. "I'll do it."

Natasha gave her a smile as she stood up, holding her hand out. Jade grabbed it and let Natasha pull her up to her feet.

"You can do this. I know you can."

Jade nodded at her before she turned around. "And I might've also kissed Tony, but I don't know if it was the right thing to do."

Natasha turned around to walk backwards as she smirked at Jade. "I know you did. Don't worry, you look cute together," She said before turning around to join Clint again.

"I can do this," Jade told herself before closing her eyes to focus more. "I know I can do this. And I kind of have to if I want to be of any use, but I can do it."

Jade felt the fear in her, but forced herself to push it away. She needed to focus on saving the world, she could feel scared and sorry for herself when this was done. And just like earlier that day she focused on the power inside of her, feeling it go through her veins before opening her eyes.

"Let's do this."

And here's another chapter! As you might've noticed there wasn't a double update last week, but my I just couldn't find the time with my sisters birthday party that Sunday.

And I know Jade was unable to use her powers for a while in this chapter and the last, and I hope it's okay since it was for different reasons.

But with this, there should only be one or two chapters left following the story of the Avengers!
