Chapter Nineteen:

I'm always here.

Ellie's Pov:

I smiled up at the blue sky, Sam next to me; her hand in mine.

"Would you still love me if I went to prison?" I heard her ask. I turned my head towards her, watching her light brown hair blow softly across her face. "You're too sweet for prison." I said, letting her green eyes catch my gaze. "Hey, I could go." She said with an adorable laugh.

"In what world?" I asked, crawling over to lay with her. "Just because I'm not an idiot doesn't mean I can't go to Prison." I laid down next to her in the soft grass, pulling her closer to me. "I didn't say you had to be an idiot to go.."

She flashed an enchanting smile up at me, making my heart flutter in my chest; the butterflies going crazy in my stomach.

"That's what you were thinking though." She said as I felt her stroke my cheek. "You don't know what I was thinking." I said in mock tone. "Yes I do." She said, running her fingers through the flowers that were growing tall beside her. "Actually, I was thinking what you'd look like in lingerie." She groaned and punched me in the arm. "Do you always think dirty?" I shrugged my shoulders. "Half the time? Yes."

We laid there for a few quiet moments, listening to the Orange leaves rustle in the tree above us.

"Tell me about your first time." She said randomly. I raised my brow. "Why?" She gave me an unsure look. "Curious."

I gave her a quick glance before focusing back up at the sky that was now glowing as the sun started to set.

"It was with Avery." I said with a sigh. "I was sixteen and she invited me over after school for "studying." When I got there we did study for about an hour."

"My mom called and said that she needed me home. I told Avery and she grabbed my arm and said, "Studying wasn't the only reason I wanted you here." Then she kissed me...You can figure out the rest."

I looked back over at her when I heard her laughter. "What?"

"Was it good?" She asked.

"I mean...Sure...but I regret it." She gave me a weird look. "It made me sex crazy." I said, answering the question she was thinking.

She smiled. "Atleast you've had plenty of practice." I rolled my eyes, sitting up a bit and staring down at the beauty before me.

"What happened?" She asked, pointing at my wrist. I sighed, pulling down my sleeve. "Why would you hurt yourself?"

"I did it because I love you." I said honestly, laying on her chest. "Just because you love me doesn't mean you should harm yourself. Your skin isent paper. Don't cut it." She said softly. "It made the pain go away." I said with a long breath.

"No it didn't. It just caused more..." She said, smiling. "You can be really stupid sometimes...but I love you anyway."

I chewed on the inside of my cheek.

"Then you try to swallow two bottles? Are you crazy? I would've killed you myself." She said, giggling. "You know that I love you, Ellie."

I looked behind us at a few dogs that were running through the meadow.

"But you said you wanted me out of your life." I reminded her. "You know how when you're upset you say things you don't mean." She said.

"You seemed pretty serious to me." She sighed. "Ellie, You're my best friend. My lover, my...red dork." I rolled my eyes, giving her a slight smirk. "But most most of all you're the air that I breathe...my light in the darkness."
