  VON
Sweat drips from my forehead. Same dream, same memory, same nightmare. I still feel the pain from all my scars that I had gotten on that night.
  I see you're up.
"Unlike you," I snap, "I actually sleep. So shut up."
Leffy raises his arm a bit, as if he's about to say something, but thinks better of it an drops his arm.
Slender wanted to see you. You'd better go—
I throw my legs over the edge of the bed. "I know him better than you. I know not to disappoint him." I hesitate before saying, "I've learned that lesson."
I stand and get dressed. Throwing on a black shirt and grey jeans. Actually, I don't know what colors they are, I'm color blind. I put my feet into a pair of black sneakers (those I do know that they're black) and go to my bedroom door. My hand is on the doorknob when I see a photograph in the corner of my eye. I tilt my head, barely a centimeter, and close my eyes. When I open then again, I turn the doorknob, open the door and step out, closing it behind me.
"Finally," someone says to my right. I turn and see Jeff, one of my best friends, leaning against the wall beside my room. "Slender has been bugging us all. Saying he wanted to talk with you."
I furrow my brows, annoyed. "Yeah, Leffy told me."
Jeff shakes his head, chuckling. "I still don't believe that Leffy was still named by your parents."
I shrug. "They thought it'd be easier than saying monster every time they talk."
  I'm right here.
I look down at Leffy. "Shut up."
If I had legs, I'd kick your ass.
I roll my eyes and turn to my left, walking to and down the stairs. I clench my jaw as every stair creaks beneath my feet. I swear, Slender did it on purpose so I, or anyone else for that matter, couldn't sneak out. That or he just really wanted to annoy me. Makes sense. I see Jack on the couch, eating... I don't want to know.
"Slender's going to kick your ass," I say to Jack, making him jump.
He glares at me. "You gave me a fucking heart attack."
  I ignore him. "Where's Slender?"
Jack turns around and bites into the thing he's eating. "Study," he answers through a mouth full of it.
  He's so gross.
I turn and head back upstairs and go through the dark hallways until I reach another set of stairs. I go up them, the light fading even more. At the top, there's a door less than a yard down the stairs. I walk to it and cautiously open the door.
"It's about time." Slender is standing in front of the large window, the only source of light right now. "I've been meaning to speak with you."
I look around, nervous. Last time I was in here...
  "Obviously it's important," I mutter.
  Watch your tongue.
"Watch you tongue, Von," Slender warns. He turns slightly and looks at me, his white, featureless face eerie in the pale light. "You have been questioning your abilities and how they came to be."
"Yes," I say. "I tend to have questionable abilities. As well as physique."
Slender nods. "Yes. But, I still question whether that is correct."
"I was smaller than other kids, you said so yourself, and now I'm over six feet tall. Questionable."
Slender tilts his head, as if challenging me. "It is common in humans that they would be small as children and grow."
I close my eyes and shake my head, then look at him. "My whole family was either below or of average height. Anyway, not the point. What did you want to talk about?"
Slender sighs. "I have been talking to Evil, and he knows the answers to your questions."
  I raise an eyebrow. "Soo...?"
"I have arranged a meeting between you and Evil."
  Shit.
I look at Leffy, the monstrous shadow that destroyed my life. "Shut up," I whisper.
You do realize that Evil will just give you more questions, right?
"I know." I clench and unclench my jaw. "But then I'll know what the hell's wrong with me."
"You will meet with him tomorrow," Slender says, interrupting my argument with my shadow.
"Wai- what?!" I sputter. "Tomorrow? Why so soon?"
Slender's featureless face twists in anger and annoyance. "It's tomorrow or never. Evil is not someone to mess with, and neither am I."
I look him in the face, right where his are supposed to be. "As I learned through the fourteen years of my life here. Especially from my last 'lesson', or do you not remember that."
Calm down, Von. We don't need a repeat.
"You better watch what you say," Slender warns, his voice deep and creepy. The same voice he uses to scare his victims.
I clench my hands into fists. "Unlike everyone else fighting you, we'd be equally matched."
  ENOUGH!
"ENOUGH!" Slender shouts, his back arching. The perfect cue to stop or his spider legs come out. "YOU WILL TALK WITH EVIL!"
I look at him for a minute, then finally nod. Slender relaxes, straightening his back then his suit jacket. "Very well. You are excused."
I turn and walk to the door, then pause before walking out and look over my shoulder. "I never asked for you as a father."
I don't wait for what he says, I just walk out.
