You stare up at him. "Hugh?" Silence. "When will the pizza get here?" "Soon, love." He says, and his voice sounds distorted, like static on a submerged TV, but you love him anyway. He's all you have. Ages pass, before the doorbell rings. "Pizza." Says a voice from the outside. "Pizza."
Hugh opens the door, and is immediately thrown back. The pizza flew around the room before you came. "Excuse me?" You ask, startled and confused. The pizza whizzes by you, and you duck, but not fast enough: it slices your arm as it passes. Suddenly a horrible thought occurs to you, and you look down at Hugh. Your fears are confirmed.
He's lying there, in a pool of blood, a deep gash in his throat. Immediately you are upon him, tears leaking from the corners of your eyes. "(your name)..." He whispers. "Hugh, no. No no no please no...no!" "It will be alright, my (your name)... at least we spent some quality time together." And then he's gone. You grit your teeth, tears now streaming down your face. You hear the whoosh of the pizza behind you. You don't even try to get out of the way.
