Stan drove rather well for having such bad eye sight. Mabel squealed with excitement. "This is going to be so much fun! I can't wait to see the Gravity Falls Pool!"

"Well, at least we're not blindfolded this time." Dipper thought to himself.

The dirt road they traveled on became darker as more trees emerged on the side of the road. The sky became covered with dark, gray clouds.

"Grunckle Stan, is it supposed to rain?" asked Dipper.

"Nah. It always looks like this when we near the pool." When he said pool, his hands made quotation marks. "Here we are!" he said as they pulled into a dusty, gravel parking lot.

"Yaaay!" cheered Mabel as she lept out of the car.

"Mabel, wait!" Dipper called behind her. After grabbing their pool bags, which held their towels, goggles, and sunscreen, they ran towards the entrance and skidded to a stop. Throught the small, rotted, wooden fence they could see the pool, but it wasn't really a pool at all; more like a giant hole filled with swampy water. Over grown grass and other plants surrounded the perimeter. Giant pine trees casted an ominous shadow over everytning and a smog-ish fog was about them. Bits of algae floated on the surface of the water. A dead fish popped to the surface as well. A shiver ran up the twin's spines.

Even Mabel seemed a bit disappointed. "Umm, Grunckle Stan, is this the right pool?"

"Sure it is! Just look around!" but there was not much to look at.

"Is it toxic?" Dipper asked.

"Umm, oh look! There's the ticket booth! Gotta pay to get in ya know." Stan said, not answering the question. He pushed the kids foward.

Sitting in a wooden ticket booth was a creepy looking old man, maybe even older than Old Man McGucket.

"Hi! Two children swimming today." Stan said to the old man.

He had tuffs of white hair sticking out of an old baseball cap. One eye was slightly closed and he had saggish, pale skin. Bits of freckles spread over his cheek. Although he had no blemishes, he had one tooth hanging over his lip in the center. Maybe that was the only tooth he had, but no one could tell, concidering he didn't speak.

The man held up the number five with his old, wrinkled, hand.

"Five dollars? Fine." Stan griped as he reached in his pocket for the five dollars. "Here." he said as he slammed the bill on the booth. The man slowly took the money, pushed a button, and the small wooden gate creaked open and they were allowed to enter.

Mabel and Stan headed in, Mabel still unsure about all this. Dipper entered as well, but stopped for a moment and checked his pool bag for the Volume 3 Book. Good thing he brought it with him, he had a suspicion about this "pool". He put the book back in the bag and glanced at the ticket booth man. He just sat there, not really an afraid look, but more of an alert face was upon him. Dipper got the chills and ran after his uncle and sister.

The gate closed behind him.
