Changbin grumbled angrily to himself when the call reached Minho's voicemail for the umpteenth time. Why is his best friend not picking up his calls after hanging up on him like that?! The short boy really wants to pull his hair out of genuine frustration, because he knows damn well that Minho purposely refuses to pick up his calls. The fact that Changbin isn't aware of the reason does nothing to help his inner frustration. He sighs while he gets off his bed to take a shower because he gets the gut feeling that he won't be sleeping for a while. Pulling on a pair of black skinny jeans and a plain black t-shirt, Changbin quickly makes his bed before he goes downstairs with his phone just in case Minho calls him.
Changbin decides to set up the guest bed that's placed in one of the guest rooms in his mansion even though he knows that it's pointless because it's not going to be used, but his parents always taught him to always be prepared whenever a guest comes over. He's obviously home alone at the moment because his married brother is living with his family while their parents are enjoying their vacation for their anniversary month. The reason why he had set up the guest bed was because Minho had randomly informed him that he'll be coming over to his house. Not that Changbin mind having Minho over nor preparing a room for his friend to sleep in even though his older friend would most likely sleep in his room instead. It's seriously odd for Minho to come to his house when they have nothing planned, especially this late at night.
"Did something bad happened at home?" Changbin spoke loudly to no one in particular.
However, Changbin immediately shakes the thought away. Even though Minho's mom had remarried another man that is his step-father from Australia, Minho never once mentioned about having any issues with the man. After all, Minho isn't the type to ever hide his problems from Changbin and their youngest best friend, Seungmin. Not to mention that Changbin would often spend some time with Minho's step-dad whenever he goes to hang out at the Lee family's house, and the Australian father has been nothing but sweet and loving to all of them. So, that's off the list.
"Then, could it be his step-brother?" Changbin frowned unsurely.
Minho's step-father actually had married an Australian-Korean woman before he married Minho's mom. Unfortunately, Changbin doesn't know what had happened to his ex-wife because no one had spoken about it, including Minho, so he never brought up the topic despite his dying curiosity. Changbin could only assume that it's a sensitive topic for the Lee family. Regardless, the former Australian couple had a son named Felix, who came to live in South Korea with his father after his second marriage.
Shockingly, Changbin actually never met Felix despite the number of times he went to the Lee family's house because the boy is never home during the day for some weird reason and he would get home late into the night. To which, Changbin would be at home by then because he has a habit of sleeping early. Changbin had learned from Minho that Felix doesn't allow anyone in his room without his permission, especially when the Australian boy isn't at home. Unfortunately, Felix had left no current photos of himself outside of his room, except for that one picture of the Australian boy as a young kid around the age of seven or eight with his dad at a zoo in Australia. Mr. Lee actually showed Changbin that photo himself and told him every little story about Felix's embarrassing encounters with the animals there. Apparently, Felix was always way too friendly for his own good. Sadly for Felix, the animals didn't view him as a friend, so he often got pounded by some feisty animals for getting too close to them. Thinking back, Changbin feels bad for laughing at Felix because the poor kid was just trying to be friendly.
