After receiving his weapon Leon walked towards the village's tavern. The tavern was a place where most players and NPCs would gather to either organise groups to go level up or to exchange information. It was located next to the smithy. The place was brimming with life as the locals' voices could be heard from the street. Entering the tavern Leon quickly ordered himself a drink at sat down quietly in the corner. On the surface he looked relaxed, however, secretly he was listening to the other people's conversations.
Most of the dialogues were about some random stuff like the weather, how the beasts were tough to kill or about the lack of weapons for beginners. He could hear how many players complained about the difficulty of the game, as you would start it without a class or a weapon to wield. This made it much more realistic and encouraged people to team up to go levelling up.
After 15 minutes of listening Leon suddenly focused on a conversation between two players that sat down next to him. Both of them were level 1 beginners.
"Hey, how has the search for a decent quest gone for you?"
"I found a couple of quests, however, all of them require you to hunt down wild boars or silver-moon wolves! They are extremely tough, but if we try hard enough then we could reach level 2 by tomorrow and them try them out."
"Wow... this game sure makes levelling up extremely tasking. Who was the NPC that gave you the quest?"
"Just some old merchant from the market. He actually wanted me to hunt down 15 silver-moon wolves! That's a suicide mission!"
The two continued chatting about random stuff. Leon could bother with them anymore as he strode out of the tavern. He started walking towards the market place.
"Bronze Shield! Great stats! Any future knight would need one for their team! Only 20 coppers!"
"Need people to go hunting wild boars! Noobs should scram! Looking for experts! All loot is divided equally afterwards!"
The marketplace was bustling with liveliness as plyers were crying to searching for potential clients. The merchant shops were lined out neatly on the edges of the street.
Leon walked by looking for the merchant to find the quest from. On the way, he bought twenty pieces of wheat bread. He wanted to make sure to be ready before heading out into the woods. After a dozen of minutes of searching he spotted a lone counter with some wolf tides and fangs lying about.
"That must be him."
Walking towards the stand he noticed an old man sitting. A perplexed look covered his face.
"Old man, you don't look as lively as the other merchants. Is everything alight?"
"Young man, as a matter of fact, I have stumbled upon a problem. My usual supplier of wolf tides has been ill. I am of extreme need of those tides; however, no one has been courageous enough to go into the Grassroot forest to get some for me."
A sarcastic smirk surfaced on Leon face. Found you!
"That sounds awful! I would live to help you out if I could."
"That would be great! Don't worry I will make sure to pay you well if you manage to succeed."
