Chapter 2 of my Negan/Scarlett story! Please give me feedback! I'd love to hear what you guys think of it so far!
Scarlett was staring at the ax in her hand, lips trembling as she stared down at the body of her ex-boyfriend. She had come to see him when talk of the virus was on the news, telling people to head towards the city. She had come to see Mark, they were supposed to head to the city together. But when she got to the front of his house, he was there, trying to attack her.
So she grabbed the first thing she saw when he tried to bite a chunk of her arm off. The ax came in handy, one blow to the head and he was done for.
"Well hot damn. If that isn't the hottest thing I've seen all day, I'd be lying." a voice called out from behind her, causing the blonde to whirl around and hold the ax out, ready to attack again.
"Shit. Calm the fuck down, blondie. I ain't one of them dead fuckers.." he grinned, glad to see that she could handle herself and not act like some damsel in distress.
"Negan. What? How... How did you find me? Shouldn't you be with your wife?" Scarlett narrowed her eyes at the tall man standing in front of her. He just grinned and shook his head.
"She didn't make it. Turned a few days ago, hell you managed to do what I couldn't. Put her out of her fucking misery. Got some kid to do it for me." Negan shrugged and walked over, baseball bat resting over his shoulder and a backpack on. "My sister lived in this neighborhood, thought I'd come to see if she made it. The car ran out of gas, saw your fine ass killing a man and so I decided to come to say hello," he smirked, dimples appearing in his cheeks as he did so.
Scarlett just shook her head and headed to where she parked her car. Opening the door and getting in, she rolled her eyes when he got into the passenger's seat. Deciding to ignore the fact he simply decided to join her without bothering to ask. She turned the car on and started to drive. No music on, just the windows that were down.
With her hair down, a worried look on her face, both Scarlett, and Negan went to find a safe place in Washington. The car packed with food, water and some more important things they would need like toilet paper and even a few guns. Just in case.
Though Scarlett couldn't help but think about the man beside her. Remembering the day they had first met...
Negan had come into the emergency room with a dislocated shoulder. Some fall he had taken at work, teaching at a local high school as a PE teacher. She had been the nurse to help him that afternoon.

The two hit it off, seeing each other frequently, getting drinks or merely staying at her apartment. It went on for months, sleeping together and being happy. Acting like a normal couple. Two people in love.
It was when Negan busted through the doors to the ER, not remembering she was working the graveyard shift, with his wife in his arms. Begging for someone to help her. Of course, luck was not on her side that night, she had been the nurse put on the case.
So being as professional as possible, Scarlett ran the tests and did what she could for Lucille. Ignoring the man and refusing to catch his eye. She was to busy trying to keep her tears from falling down her cheeks. As soon as she was allowed to leave, Scarlett almost ran out of the hospital with her things. Only having to yank her arm free from Negans grasp halfway to her car.
"Go back to your wife, and never look for me again!"
Were the last words she said to him before leaving him there, in the middle of the parking lot while she got into her car and drove away.
Looking at him now, a year later, fleeing to the city together hoping to survive whatever it is causing people to turn into zombies. Scarlett wondered what the hell was wrong with her. Being near the same man who broke her heart a year ago. He lied and used her while he had been married the whole time.
Scarlett just hoped they can make it to the city without her having to throw the man out of the car.
