Romila left the Chatrapati Shivaji airport with a hired taxi. She had told Scarlet to cancel her Taj reservations so as to visit her grandparents and stay with them in their house. She felt in as much as she could the glaring sun rays. She loved Mumbai. Even more than Toronto. Because of the warm climate. Because of warm people.
She paid the taxi and entered the three-storey bungalow. It was same just a little faded away color. She got the same fragnance of sandalwood which was the sole ingredient for her grandmom's fair skin.
She carried her suitcase and rang the door bell.
"Romii!!!" Her grandmom screamed and hugged her. Romila was also very delighted to see her. "I knew you would come. I love you Romi."
Romila thought about it. Thankgod her stupid bosses had this idea. Or else granny would have been so upset. "Where's granna?" "He has gone for a evening walk. Wait I'll make something for you."
Romila held her granny and made her sit on the sofa. She then hugged her and said, "Granny I am sorry, I behaved so. Actually workload is very much. I am really sorry."
Granny patted her back and said, "It's okay darling. I understand."
Just then Grandpa entered and screamed, "Romi! How come you came here?" Romila saw her granna and hugged him. "I missed you all. So I came."
"Tisca make something good for her. I'll bring some sweets." said Grandpa.
"No no granny no need. Just make whatever you make usually. And granna don't go anywhere. All the sweets and everything we'll have at night. I have so much to talk to." said Romila.
And they all sat on the sofa and chatted for hours. Laughter, giggles , happiness was back. If only it had lasted.
