That night as I lay in bed, Abigail's words spun around in my head. It's up to me. I thought.

I had two options. Go, or don't go. I tossed around in my bed trying to figure out the tough question."Why,"I groaned."why is it me who has to choose this?"

All the stress started to hurt my head. So,I forgot about it and went to sleep.

In the morning as I went to work, I had made up my decision. I would tell it to my boss after my shift.

When my shift was over, I courageously, but nervously knocked on the door.

"Come in." Said my boss in a bold voice.

I slowly cracked the door and peeked in. As usual, my boss seemed very busy. Then,my boss looked up and saw me.

Oh no! He saw me!Run away!  Said my mind. I didn't listen to it . I'm not that much of a coward!(Well...sometimes.)

I walked in and seated myself on a chair by the desk.

"I was expecting you." Said my boss." Have you made up your mind?"

I had.

"Sir,i'm sorry. I will not accept the mission." The words seemed to choke me. My bosses gray eyes pierced straight through me. I could feel cold sweat run down my forehead.

"Why so?" He asked.

What was I going to say? Because I would rather stay with Abigail? No way! So...I lied."Because, my mother needs me at home doing chores, and work." I knew it was duplicitous. I looked at my boss the best I could without looking guilty.

"I see." He said.

I didn't know what else to say. Did I let him down? He looked as though he was depending on me.

"Aright then. You may go." He said without looking at me. Without another word, I sat up and left.

As I walked out with my leather black bag, I wondered who would be my replacement.

I met up with Abigail outside in the parking lot. We sat on the sidewalk curve. I looked at Abigail. Her hair shone. She flipped her hair."So...what did you say?"She asked.

I cleared my throat."I said I wasn't going."

She was surprised."Oh?"

I stared down at the road.I longed to go to Mars. That's all I ever wanted to do ever since I was a kid. Abigail looked at me with compassion.

"Hey,thanks for choosing me over Mars."

I grinned at her."I would choose you over anything."

She looked at me and smiled sweetly. I knew where she was leading me too. My heart beat fast. I just couldn't do it. My mother always told me to save my first kiss until marriage.
