Days past and nobody interesting has came to the beach. Just old, snobby adult, or young, respectful children. It's funny how the children act like how you'd expect the adults to act.
It was about a month later when the Doctor, Dr. Calligan came to visit me once again. I told him about my encounters with people and he just laughed. He had booked a hotel room for the weekend and he'd be staying here to look after me for a couple of days.
Of course, he had to leave when it started to get dark. Telling me good night, he exited the soft sanded beach, leaving me alone in the navy blue water. I've grown used to the icy, navy water, and it didn't really bother me the slightest.
The thing that did irk me was the unfriendly fish. They were sometimes ruder than the humans, which I thought was impossible. Fish looked so harmless and cute, but then again they can be the meanest, weirdest looking creatures in the sea.
And some humans are the exact same.
The next day when Dr. Calligan was teaching me tricks on how to swim faster, I recognized a too familiar face. Cocking my head to the shore of the beach, I saw a face I never thought I would see again.
He was standing there, squinting at the bright sun and smiling with those big dimples of his. A towel was wrung around his neck and his toes were wriggling under the warm sand, which I know he hasn't felt before.
But one question poked at my mind.
Why was he in California?
