"Jaiden?...Jaiden!" Tim yelled as he shook Jaiden awake. Jaiden jumped in her chair spinning around to meet her friends. "Oh, hey guys." She said tiredly. Her friends looked at her worried. "How long have you been working?" Rebecca asked. Jaiden thought, but didn't have an answer. "I don't know. Hours." She replied. Adam walked over and picked Jaiden up from her chair, carrying her over his shoulder as he walked out of her office.
"What are you doing?" Jaiden asked, surprisingly calm. She was too tired to shout. "You need a nap." Adam replied, walking into her room. He walked to the bed, then plopped Jaiden on it. "I'll sleep when my channel dies." Jaiden retorted. "It will die when you die...from lack of sleep." James said leaning on the door frame. "James is right. Though no one has reportedly died from lack of sleep, it is possible." Tim said walking in the room. "And you don't want to be the first." Adam said.
Jaiden looked to Rebecca. "Please tell these bafoons that I'm fine." Jaiden asked. Rebecca shook her head. "I hate to admit it, but they're right." Rebecca said, almost gagging at saying the boys were right. Jaiden sighed, maybe they were right. She had been working too hard and tired herself out. She looked at the mirror across the room and sighed at the bags under her eyes. "Fine." Jaiden said, climbing under the covers. She looked at her friends. "Are you guys gonna leave or....?" She asked. "We will, once you fall asleep." James said.
"Well I won't be able to fall asleep when you're all staring at me." Jaiden said. Her friends instantly looked away from her, at the blank wall, Ari's cage, the couch, and the bedside clock that read 11:47 a.m. Jaiden shook her head and turned away from her friends, trying to fall asleep. "Is she asleep?" James asked Adam, literally seconds after Jaiden turned away. "I literally just closed my eyes." Jaiden said. "Oh. Sorry. Are you asleep now?" James asked. "James!" Rebecca scolded, hitting James's arm.
"Let's leave her alone." Rebecca said, dragging the boys out of the room. Being the oldest had its perks. The four walked to the kitchen. Adam instantly opened the cupboard and took out the peanut butter. "Really Adam?" Tim asked. "What?" Adam asked back. "You're just gonna raid the kitchen?" Tim asked. "And not ask us if we want anything?" James said. Rebecca hit him again. "Ow!" James yelled. "Be quiet! You'll wake Jaiden!" Tim scolded. "Yeah James, be quiet." Adam said before he closed the cupboard harshly, making it slam loud. "Adam!" Tim yelled!
Jaiden heard the commotion and sighed. Though her friends wanted her to sleep, they're part of the reason she can't. Jaiden put a pillow over her head and tried to drift off. That is, until Ari screeched. "Ari, STOP!" Jaiden yelled, but it didn't silence her doggo. She was about to lose it, when Tim walked in and took Ari out of his cage. "Sorry Jaiden, sleep tight!" He said, walking out. Jaiden sighed once more and closed her eyes.
Tim walked back into the kitchen to see his friends panicked. "What's going on?" He asked. "I dropped my earring down the drain!" Rebecca said. "What? How? You weren't even standing near the sink!" Tim asked. "I was trying to stop these two from fighting over the peanut butter when it fell out and bounced into the sink." Rebecca explained. Tim put Ari on the counter and went to help his friends. Rebecca was shining her phone's flashlight down the drain while Adam and James were throwing stuff out of the cabinets to get to the pipes, making a mess in the process.
Tim did his Tim Tom magic and took off the cover of the drain. "Adam, stick your hand down the drain and see if you can feel anything." Tim said. Adam bumped his head on the cabinet, then pulled his head out of the cabinet to look at Tim. "Why do I have to do it?" Adam asked. "Because you started this whole thing!" Tim argued. "Yeah, you wanted to raid the kitchen for peanut butter!" Rebecca said. "Hey...peanut butter never hurt anybody." James said. Rebecca and Tim glared at him.
Adam sighed, then stuck his hand down the drain. "Do you feel it?" Rebecca asked. "Yeah," Adam said. "But I can't pull it out." James stood up and looked around. He spotted a switch and touched it. "Let's turn on the light." He said, flipping the switch. Adam yanked his hand out of the drain as it almost got chewed off by the garbage disposal. "James!" Tim yelled. "Sorry, I thought it was the light!" James apologized, flipping the switch again.
Adam put his hand back in the drain. "I can't feel it anymore." He said panicked. Tim looked at Rebecca. "Can you buy new ones?" He asked. Rebecca shook her head. "No, these are my mother's earrings. They were given to her by my great grandmother." She said. The boys started to panic more. "Okay, maybe it went down the pipe and got stuck." Tim said, bending down and putting his head in the cabinet. "James, hand me a wrench or something." Tim said. James looked around at all the things they pulled out of the cabinet. "There is no wrench." James said.
Tim took out his wallet and tossed it to Adam. "Adam, go get a wrench." Tim said. Adam held his hand to his head in a saluting manner. "Aye aye captain!" He said before running out the door. He closed the door loudly, making the others cringe and look towards Jaiden's bedroom. There was no noise, so they went back to what they were doing. "What do we do?" James asked. "We wait until Adam gets back. Until then, let's just chill out and pray Jaiden doesn't wake up." Tim said. At that moment, the door knob on Jaiden's door started to turn.
"S***, James! Go distract Jaiden!" Tim yelled. James ran to Jaiden's room in time to catch her as she opened the door. "Uh...hey, James." Jaiden said awkwardly. "Hey Jaiden!" James yelled, trying to cover the sound of Tim and Rebecca panicking in the kitchen. "...um...can you move? I have to pee." Jaiden said, awkwardly trying to move past James. "Uh..yeah! I-I'll walk you there! You know...s-so you don't get lost." James said. Jaiden raised an eyebrow. "James...I know where the bathroom is....it's my house." Jaiden said, pushing past James.
"Right! That's right...this is your house. Go ahead!" James said, still staying close to Jaiden and blocking her view of the kitchen. Jaiden slammed the bathroom door in James's face and shook her head. He's acting weird...weirder than usual. James threw a thumbs up to Tim, who put a hand on his head and sighed. Jaiden opened the door, jumping when she saw James still standing there. "You didn't hear anything did you?" Jaiden asked. James raised a brow. "No, what do you mean?" He asked.
"Oh nothing....I totally didn't accidentally knock my toothbrush in the toilet. Anyway...I'm going back to my nap." Jaiden said, running to her room without looking towards the kitchen. James looked at Tim and Rebecca with a questioning look. Tim took out his phone and quickly texted Adam to pick up a new toothbrush as well. 'There's no toothbrushes at Home Depot. There's sanders though. Do you want a sander?' Adam texted back. 'No. I don't think Jaiden would want to sand her teeth.' Tim texted.
'I'll pick something up.' Adam replied. After minutes, Adam returned with a wrench and toothbrushes, handing over the toothbrushes without question. Tim took the wrench and got to work opening the pipes. He took out some piping and looked inside. "I don't see anything." Tim said. "Let's flush it out!" Adam said, turning on the water. "Wait no-" Tim tried to say, before being hit with water in the face. "TURN IT OFF!" He yelled. Adam quickly turned the water off. He tried to hold his laughter as Tim emerged from under the sink soaking wet.
Tim glared at Adam, ready to slap the smirk off his face when Rebecca beamed, reaching down and picking up her earring. "You got it! Good thinking Adam!" Rebecca said. "Yeah...good thinking." Tim said, drying himself with a towel. "You can say it...I'm a genius." Adam said, proud of himself. "Let's not push it." James replied. Rebecca cleaned off the earring, dried it, then put it back on. James and Adam put back the stuff from the cabinet. "Great. Now let's wake up Jaiden." James said, strolling to his friend's room. The others followed, opening the door.
Jaiden laid asleep peacefully. She looked like a small child taking a nap, so innocent and peaceful- "WAKE UP!" Adam yelled, making Jaiden jump up. She looked at her friends startled. "Hey sleepyhead." Rebecca said. "Did you enjoy your nap?" James asked. "Yeah...I did." Jaiden said, stretching and yawning. "Good. Now go shower. You stink." Tim said. Jaiden rolled her eyes, then dragged herself outside off the room. The others smiled, thinking they got away with everything and were Scott clean.
"ARI!" They heard Jaiden yell. They ran out into the kitchen where Jaiden was taking Ari out of an almost empty tortilla chip bag. Jaiden looked at her friends. "This bag was half full! What, did you let him have a party?" She asked. "Uh....no?" James said. They all started explaining what happened and Jaiden just laughed. "Well, I know never to fall sleep with you guys in my house ever again. You might set it on fire with me inside next time." She said.
The group laughed. The others left and Jaiden went to take a shower. When she was done she got some lunch, then got back to work.
