"Adam!" Rebecca yelled as she rushed to her friend, who had slipped on cake batter and crashed to the floor. "I'm okay!" Adam announced, getting up with Rebecca's help. The timer dinged and Tim sprung into action, throwing on mittens hastily and yanking open the oven. He took out the cake, burning himself in the process. "Ow!" He yelped, quickly placing the cake on the counter and taking off the mittens. Rebecca closed the oven while passing Tim to open the cabinet. She searched for a while before closing the cabinet in frustration.
"Where's the sprinkles?" She asked. Tim looked at Adam. "I told you to buy the sprinkles!" He said. Adam put his hands up in defense. "I did! I put them in that cabinet!" He said. The three looked at each other, then walked together to the living room where James was. They stopped at looked at their friend, who poured the last of the sprinkles in his mouth while hanging streamers. "James!" Adam yelled. James stumbled back off the chair, falling onto the couch then off of it to the floor. Rebecca cringed at the fall (but low key she thought it was funny). "What?" James said, getting up off the floor.
"You ate all the sprinkles!" Tim yelled. James looked at the empty bottle in his hand, then at his friends. "I know." He said. Tim closed his eyes, counting to ten before he could slap the sprinkle out of James. "We needed those for the cake!" Rebecca said. James looked confused, then realized he was putting streamer up for a reason. His face turned into instant remorse. "Crap." He said. "Crap is right. Go get sprinkles. Now." Rebecca commanded. "Aye aye captain." James said with a salute, then left Tim's house.
The three went back to the kitchen, when the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Adam announced, turning around to go to the door. He opened it slightly, his eyes widening when he saw who it was. "Hey Adam!" Jaiden said happily. "Uh...uh uh.." Adam stumbled over his words before closing the door in Jaiden's face. The brunette stood awkwardly in the sunlight, not knowing what to do. Should I leave? She thought.
Adam ran into the kitchen frantic. "Jaiden's here!" He yelled. Tim and Rebecca went wide eyed, panicking. Tim shoved a hand in his pocket and took out his wallet, throwing dollar bills at Rebecca ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). "Take her out to lunch, distract her!" He said. Rebecca collected the money and nodded, rushing out of the house. Jaiden was still standing at the door, Rebecca colliding into her as she moved quickly. "Oh sorry!" Rebecca said with a laugh. " "It's okay. Hey what are you doing at Tim's-" "Lets go out to eat!" Rebecca interrupted, grabbing Jaiden's hand and pulling her away from the house. "Okay." Was all Jaiden could say.
James looked at all the sprinkles in the aisle. So many colors, how could he choose? There were purple sprinkles, and purple is Jaiden's favorite color, but everything else was already purple. The frosting on the cake, the streamers, the confetti, was it too much to have purple sprinkles too? What if I buy all of them? James thought. If we don't use all of them, I'll just eat the rest. He grabbed every color of sprinkles he could, holding them in his arms as he carried them to the self checkout. I really should've grabbed a basket. He thought.
"THE BISCUITS ARE BURNING TIM!" Adam yelled as he ran into the kitchen. He grabbed an oven mitt and opened the oven, taking out a smoking pan of biscuits. "Man, I really wanted some biscuits." Tim said standing at the doorway. "Is it too late to make more?" Adam asked. Tim shrugged as his phone went off. He took it out of his pocket and looked at the message he received. 'Can't stall any longer. Heading to your house. Is James back yet?' Rebecca texted. Tim sighed as he read the message aloud. "We're screwed." He said.
Just then, the door opened and James walked in with bags. He placed them on the counter and smiled. "I got sprinkles!" He announced. Tim shook his head but didn't question anything, taking out a random bottle of sprinkles and running towards the frosted cake. "Guys!" They heard a voice call from the door. Rebecca and Jaiden had arrived from an awkward lunch date. "Uh, Uh...Adam! Go distract Jaiden until I'm done!" Tim ordered, trying to open the bottle of sprinkles. "Gotcha!" Adam said, starting to head to the living room when he was pulled back by his hoodie. "And don't tell her about the cake." Tim said while holding his friend's hoodie. Adam nodded and Tim let go.
Adam walked out to the living room where Jaiden was admiring the decorations. "Hey guys." Adam said. Rebecca looked at him anxiously while Jaiden smiled. "Hey Adam!" She greeted. "How's it going?" "Uh....Uh....Tim's putting sprinkles on the cake!" Adam blurted out. "Da**it Adam!" Tim yelled from the kitchen. He banged the bottle against the counter but nothing could open it. James ran into the room after stashing the rest of the sprinkles somewhere. "James open this!" Tim said, tossing the bottle. "Gotcha!" James replied, catching the bottle.
Tim went to the cake and picked up the frosting to write "Happy Birthday Jaiden" on it when there was a crash followed by multiple small things falling to the floor. Tim spun around quick and saw the sprinkles all over the floor and the broken bottle. "What happened?!" Tim asked. "I opened it." James answered. "I threw it at the wall." Tim stared hard at James wondering if the sprinkles were making him so dumb. Footsteps approached, then Jaiden, Adam, and Rebecca showed up in the kitchen. Tim looked at Jaiden nervously. "Uh...Happy Birthday!" He said wearily. Rebecca looked at them like she wanted to kill them. "Happy Bir-" James started to say before he slipped on the sprinkles and fell.
Jaiden looked around the messed up kitchen. The crumbling cake, burnt biscuits, and spilled sprinkles. She suddenly smiled, and looked at her friends. "Thanks guys." She said happily. "Let's eat cake!" Adam said, rushing to the desert. But, somehow, the cake caught on fire. They decided to just eat out instead.
Here it is! The next chapter! It took me months to write. Funny how I started writing this on Jaiden's actual birthday and finished on the day after Rebecca's birthday. Don't worry, I'm definitely posting a chapter for Rebecca's birthday soon. Okay, bye!
