"You can't be my mom. She...she," June's voice cracked as she thought back to the fire.
"Died?" The lady asked spreading her hands out in front of her, "Honey that was just a cover up. I needed to get away."
June crossed her arms and looked at the floor, "What about Dad?"
"Him?" 'Mom' scoffed, "He was a waste of time from the beginning. I was only using him so I wouldn't be found as fast. Something was bound to happen to him from the beginning."
"What about me? Was I a waste of time?"
"June-"
"No don't June me. It never was a family. Just something you put together to protect yourself!"
"I care about you!"
"Prove it!" June snapped.
June's mom walked back over to the table and opened the folder, "I've kept tabs on you ever since the fire. All the foster homes you've been in, all the friends you've had, classes you've taken, I know about it. I just..."
"You just care? Yeah I've heard that before. I've heard it from Jenny before she locked me in my room for a week, heard it from Ryan when he wouldn't let me inside, and from Ste-"
June stopped herself before she could say his name. He isn't like those other people. He actually cares about her.'Mom' got a smug look, "Ah Steve Rogers. America's golden boy. You get dropped into their world and everything's great until you went to that school."
"Do you have something against him?"
"Well one of his main goals in life is to destroy my life, so yes. You could say I have something against him."
"That doesn't sound like my dad."
'Mom' walked over to June, her eyes full of hatred, "He has destroyed everything I've ever done! And you want to know why he did it? Because of a stupid little crush on some guy that the leader took!"
June's eyes widened, "You...you work for Hydra," she said in a small voice.
'Mom' clapped her hands together which made June jump, "Look at that! Finally someone figured it out without me having to explain it to them!"
"But that makes you..."
"A bad guy? Have you ever thought that maybe Hydra are the good guys?"
"N-no. But I've thought that the good guys might be bad," June said in a small voice.
"Excellent! This'll be easy then."
"What'll be easy?" June asked her eyes following every movement her 'mom' made.
"The brain washing," She chirped grabbing something from the one of the three men.
"Wh-what?"
"It won't hurt...that much." 'Mom' approached June with a syringe filled with a clear liquid, "Now if you'll hold still it'll go quicker."
"What if I just uh, don't go through the brain washing?" June asked. She knows what Bucky's gone through and doesn't want to go through the same.
"Oh honey, that'll never work," 'Mom' grabbed June's arm, "Now hold still. It'll hurt less."
June struggled against her hold, "I'll do everything you tell me! Please, just don't wipe me!"
'Mom' stopped and looked in June's eyes, "Why?"
"I...I don't wanna lose my family," June pleaded.
'Mom's look turned blank, "But you won't lose your family. You've got me." She stabbed the needle into June's arm and injected the clear liquid.
June staggered back, "Mom please." She pleaded with her mom until the drug took full affect, her words became nothing and she fell to the floor.
'Mom' looked down at June on the floor, "Take her away."
Two of the men grabbed June and drug her out of the room.
"Ma'am?" The remaining guy asked.
"Yes solider?"
"Does the Winter Soldier needed to be wiped?"
'Mom' grinned, "No. We'll let him remember this."
I gotta find a name for June's mom. It's hard typing 'mom' every time.
I was thinking Jayden. Idk. Her dad could be a J name too. A family of J's or somethin'.
I'll work on it.
